"Northern Lights" is a second-floor bedroom that features a queen-sized bed and shares a bathroom with "Southern Exposure." While the bed, mattress and linens are new, other furnishings in this room are family antiques. This room may be locked with a key. Central air conditioning is being installed this coming week, July 19 :).

The space

Honeyberry Hill is a haven for travelers, situated just seven miles south of Ithaca, New York in gentle hills near Robert Treman State Park. Located midway between New York City and Niagara Falls in the Fingerlakes Region, the area is known for its colleges and its wines.

Guest access

Guests are welcome to enjoy common areas downstairs, including the quiet room I call “The Library,” the living room, children’s playroom with piano, and dining area as well as the deck. Children must be supervised if enjoying the swings and treehouse. While there is a dorm-sized refrigerator for guests’ exclusive use as well as a Keurig coffee maker, the kitchen itself is reserved for the hosts. A full-sized refrigerator may be reserved by request (no additional charge). The barns are off-limits unless accompanied by the hosts.

Interaction with guests

I am retired and home full time, so I am available to help you as needed throughout your stay.

Other things to note

The Dining Area is centered in a sunroom adjacent to the spacious kitchen, with views overlooking the garden. A wrap-around deck offers additional seating in fine weather. While breakfast ranges from eggs from our chickens to waffles and blueberry pancakes, with your choice and hour determined beforehand, other offerings including homemade granola with local yogurt and homemade biscotti are available at any hour. Free Wifi but no television. The only indoor pet is a ShiZhu (dog with hair and not fur, so non-allergenic). I use nuts and wheat in preparing food. Note that all exterior entrances are covered by security cameras.

Eileen was so amazing and thoughtful. Made our stay such a pleasant escape from the city. Molly the pup was also a favorite.

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying with Eileen. Eileen goes above and beyond to make us feel at home. This is our second visit, and we cannot wait to come back for a third! She has a beautiful home and grounds, and makes the most delicious breakfasts for her guests in the morning! Thank you Eileen for a great weekend getaway.

We really enjoyed our two-night stay at Eileen's home! Eileen is such a hospitable and welcoming host, not to mention an excellent cook and, especially, amazing baker! Her biscotti and other baked goods are heavenly and were seemingly in endless supply, thank the Lord! :) She is also very knowledgeable about the area and provided us with detailed options to help us decide what to do each day. Thanks so much for everything, again, Eileen! You rock!

Eileen is a star host! She makes you feel at home with freshly baked biscotti and an amazing selection of tea. Her breakfast waffles are delectable and her dog Molly is very sweet. Her home is cozy and lovely and the view from her dining room is green and beautiful. She provides excellent hiking and restaurant suggestions that we followed to the tee during our trip. I highly recommend visiting her home! You will feel like new!
