The space

This sweet first-floor one bedroom apartment is on a quiet street on the bikepath in the heart of the heart of Madison near the Willy Street co-op, terrific restaurants, buslines. It sleeps two or three. The kitchen has what you need. Artist owned and decorated! Come on in.

This house built at the turn of the century for railroad workers is simple but has about everything. Wood floors, gas cook stove, beautiful art, washer dryer in the basement. Two sleep comfortably in the BRAND NEW queen bed with cotton sateen sheets and home made art quilts to snuggle under. There is an option to use the futon in the living room for more sleeping space. One dog (that behaves) is fine with me.

You will be a block from the Willy Street co-op, a dozen restaurants, a hardware store a pharmacy, and the very best bakery in Madison! The house is 2-3 miles from the campus and 13 blocks from the state capital. We are 5 blocks from lake Monona and 6 from the big lake Mendota. The bus line is 2 blocks away and the house is on the bike path. We have a small farmer's market on Tuesdays from 4-7 a few blocks away. When people are asked "what is Madison to you?" this is the part of town they describe: the hip Bohemian, super cool near east side. This is a no smokers habitat.

I live around the corner and work at home and will be available to welcome guests in and point them to to all the good stuff. I have coffee and tea for your delight. Cream? Sugar?

I love having a walking life. Here on the east side you can walk to the beach, to St. Vinney's thrift store, to the coffee shop, to the food coop. The houses are close and we as neighbors care about each other and look out for each other. There are rental bikes available nearby and the apartment is on the bike path! Wooo hooo!

the bus to go everywhere is 2 blocks away. there is generally plenty of parking on the street. From the airport take a taxi.

No smokers, No smoking!!!! I prefer not to rent to Smokers. Please leave the place as you found it. If you have a dog, walk him on a leash and pick up after him. If he sleeps on the sofa please put down a sheet so he's not on my quilt. If you need anything I live right around the corner.

Perfect location for walking to great restaurants, interesting shops and co-op grocery store. The apartment was very clean. It was arty and cool as advertised. We actually found ourselves talking about the art work on the walls while we were there. It was very uncluttered, with an empty closet and dresser. Cherie stopped by on the first day to make sure we had everything we needed. She's very sweet. No complaints, will definitely stay here next time we're in town if it's available.

Cherie is a very nice and hospitable host.We stay at her house around 50 days, I strongly recommend her house to the person who is looking for a place clean and convenient. There are many awesome restuarants around the house and it just take 2 minutes to get bus stop. I really had a good time here.

Loved our stay at Cherie's place! Located in a great neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance, and easy access to downtown. Had everything we needed for a two week stay. Loved the decor with lots of original artwork. Definitely lives up to the "Cool and Arty" billing. Cherie is a wonderful host!

I stayed at Cherie's lovely apartment for 5 weeks and was very sorry to leave. The apartment if beautifully decorated with original artwork and is very comfortable and home-y. Cherie was so helpful and friendly, and responded immediately to any questions or issues I had. She had arranged for milk, coffee, and a loaf of awesome local bread, all waiting for me when I arrived. Everything was clean and well-tended. When it snowed, her helpers came by to shovel and clear the snow and salt the steps. I felt like I was totally taken care of. I didn't find anything lacking in the kitchen--all the essentials are there and the appliances work well. (the oven runs about 25 degrees hot, but that's no biggie). Good shower, and good heat that kicks in and warms the place quickly. Cherie has provided lots of extra blankets and pillows, the closet is big and has a nice dresser, and the bed is very comfortable. The couch would also be super comfortable to sleep on, though I didn't try it. The wifi is great; I didn't use the tv, but there is apple tv. There's also a washer and dryer in the basement which was awesome. The house is literally a 1 minute walk from one of the best grocery stores/coops in the city. Also less than 5 minute walk to a liquor store with great beer and wine selection, several fabulous bakeries, and cute shops and restaurants. The city bus is 2 blocks away, and there is a bcycle (bike share program) station 3 blocks away. The house is right on one of the main commuter bike paths, but the street is very quiet and there is no car through traffic. Amazing to be so close to everything and feel like you're in a peaceful, private neighborhood. This is really a sweet spot, I can't recommend it highly enough.

We loved this rental house! It's a little on the older side, but in good shape with pretty much all the amenities you would expect. There were even fresh flowers for us on our arrival. The best part, though, is the neighborhood. Willy St. (Williamson) is one short block away and is chock full of wonderful restaurants. We wished we had more days in Madison so we could sample some more. Also, there are so many cool little shops and one super thrift shop! Transportation is also good, with a bus line close by. I would definitely stay here again!
