This cozy log cabin is surrounded by National Forest with views in all directions that are breathtaking. The cabin is accessible from a county road and is only 15 to 20 minutes from town. You will have the sense of being alone on top of the world. Wildlife is plentiful in the area, there are hiking trails that can be accessed from your front door. Mountain biking and ATVing are plentiful in the area and yet you can easily reach the West side of the valley and town.

The space

The cabin is off grid with solar power backed up by a generator, which gives you constant power. Most appliances are propane based, including lights (electric lights are also provided for convenience). This is a place to get away -- with no TV. There is a strong cell phone signal for most carriers, so if you need access, you can generally get it. Town has lots of free WiFi spots if more access is needed. A Gas Grill allows for grilling on the deck. Most people find that they spend huge amounts of time on the porch or deck just soaking up the views....

Guest access

The cabin is 1100 square feet. We also have a garage, but ask that guests not use it for anything other than storage of bikes or kayaks, etc.

Interaction with guests

We have a lot of detailed information in the cabin, including detailed suggestions for hiking. We are always happy to talk to you during or before your stay to share more information on the local area.

A very nice clean cabin. We enjoyed the location. In the hills, 20 min. outside Buena Vista and very private. Most of the people you will encounter driving up to the cabin are campers or ATV enthusiasts.

We chose Debbie's cabin for our honeymoon and it was a wonderful choice. It's so quiet and secluded, but you are really only about 15 minutes from Buena Vista, and within an hour of great hiking, whitewater rafting, and more. I was a little worried after reading about bears and mountain lions in Colorado but we had no visitors and no signs of visitors to the trash outside :) The cabin was cozy with all that we needed- plenty of dishes, plenty of extra blankets to stay warm at night, and the board games were a nice addition too. I was also a little apprehensive about the cabin being "off grid" and running out of power or water, but we had absolutely no issues with that. Heated hair appliances are one of the worst offenders for running down the power supply, but with Colorado's awesome climate I didn't use a straightener or hair dryer all week. We had a strong cell phone signal the entire time we were there. We're hoping to return in the future!!

I moved to Colorado 15 years ago to pursue life in the mountains. I love trail running, hiking, skiing, yoga and just soaking in the unbelievable place I live.
