About this listing

Come enjoy a peaceful night with us in the country about 25 minutes west of Charlottesville. Take in blue ridge mountain views in this bucolic setting minutes away from local vineyards and breweries. A short drive from U.Va (we're both alumni).

The space

A nice sized room on the main floor with Queen bed and access out to back porch. A bright space with views over the side pasture (enjoy the piggies - you can roll the window down and talk to them, they'll talk back). There is a small TV with basic Direct TV service. Enjoy my back log of recorded movies on DVR as well. We will share a full bath.

Guest access

You will have your bedroom/loft completely to yourself. The kitchen and full bath will be a shared space. There is plenty of parking here.

Interaction with guests

We will make ourselves available for questions about the surrounding areas. My wife and I are both life long residents of the area and know it well. We both attended the U.Va, so we're very familiar with the university. We'll be living is the house with you during your stay and look forward to meeting you.

Other things to note

The house is on a small (5 acres) working farm. So, feel free to enjoy the animals (3 sheep, 3 pigs, 2 dogs, and hopefully chickens **coming soon). They're all very friendly, especially if you're the one feeding them :).

I stayed here while I was driving through Shenandoah and Blue Ridge Mts. It's a perfect location if you want to do some of those day hikes (short drive to both Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway). Though there isn't much within walking distance (just scenic walks) there are restaurants, wineries, and breweries within a 10-15 minute drive.

My wife and stayed at Nick and Rachel's house for a wedding. Nicholas was there to greet us, as were his two dogs, Huckleberry and Sherlock. The house was quaint and off the beaten path. We had a great time and highly recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay near Charlottesville.

Excellent location for hiking and wine tours. Private/ secluded. I enjoyed swinging on the front porch in the evening and sitting out on the deck in the mornings petting their friendly dogs. Hosts are very accommodating, and the room was very comfortable. Thanks for the great trip!

I was there for just one night as I traveled with my dogs. Nicholas was very flexible and accommodating with a late check-in and even helped with my senior dog who is not doing great health wise. It was a good place to land just before reaching my final destination in PA.

We had a great stay! Nicholas and Rachel were very friendly, as were their 2 adorable dogs. We had to check in at midnight and Nick was kindly waiting for us, which we really appreciated. It's a very quiet place, great for your escape. I recommend it!
