This apt is in a gated, residential community in uptown Manhattan. It is spacious, cozy, colorful and has great sunlight. It is a brief commute to dozens of NYC attractions and ten minutes from Central Park. Conveniently located three blocks walking distance to a popular subway line, there is also plenty of access to buses and taxis to get you to other parts of the city. 1 Br, living room, bath, dinning & kitchen.

The space

This is truly a beautiful and spacious NYC apartment with a sizable bedroom and large windows for your comfort and peace of mind in the hustle and bustle of the city. The apartment gets excellent natural light through its large windows (rare in NYC), is colorful, warm, and cozy. In addition to the bedroom and living room there is a full kitchen (including microwave), dining room area, and full bath. It is also close to a number of NYC attractions (including the famous Red Rooster restaurant and Sylvia's) and only 15 minutes to Times Square and 30 minutes (a very short commute by NYC standards) to both the east and west village. You can reach Central Park in 10 minutes. Great restaurants and cafes are only blocks away as well as a super market. NYCs most visited museums are 15 minutes away making this apartment a convenient location for both just relaxing and easily reaching top destinations.

There is 24 hour security onsite and a laundry facility in the basement of the building. Outside of the building there is a lovely courtyard for sitting and relaxing outdoors when weather permits. There is a flat screen TV in the home that is HDMI and Chromcast ready for your internet streaming enjoyment while relaxing on the super large cozy couch. There is also a DVD player and a number of DVDs.

Guest access

The whole apartment is yours! It is really a two bedroom but I travel frequently and often for months at a time. When I travel I close off my room and leave entire home and the second bedroom to you while I'm gone. There is a dresser and an empty closet for you to use should you need it.

Interaction with guests

I will be available by phone or email if you need me, otherwise I regret that I personally will not be there to greet you. However, a dear friend of mine will give you the keys and there are a number of ways I can offer you assistance from afar need be, and plenty of people onsite who can serve you should something arise. I am also happy to give you tips and suggestions of places to visit and ways to get there. I'm a proud native New Yorker and love helping others get a good taste of the city!

Sabia's place was awesome to stay at. Everything was just as I expected it to be. She is super nice and understanding! Directions to the place were clear and taking the subway was nice and easy. We mostly took Lyft back home, but her place is close to the subway which can take you to midtown really quick. I'd stay here again!

Sabias apartment surpassed expectations! The neighborhood in Harlem is a safe, residential gated community. Definitely recommend staying here for a taste of authentic NY culture. It is also in close proximity to the Bronx if you’re interested in visiting a different Burrough! Not only is the apartment close to the 2 and 3 trains, but also walking distance to the 4 and 5 trains as well. Would recommend the unlimited 7-day MetroCard even if you’re only staying a few days. This is also a convenient location for ride sharing like Uber and Lyft. Don’t be alarmed if you hear the heater at night- only heard it on my last night for a few minutes. It was worth coming home to a nice, warm apartment after exploring the city in the cold! The room is located near a quieter street, so I found the noise level to be perfect, very quiet city sounds in the background. As a host, Sabia provides all the instructions you can think of, replies promptly and is very pleasant to chat with. Thank you!

This was my first Airbnb experience, and I have to say-- it could not have been with a nicer, more accommodating host! We were flying in from Alaska, getting in earlier than official check-in time, and Sabia most graciously offered that we should check in when we could get there. You don't know how much stress this alleviated, especially after having traveled for several days already! And so we did, and the gated community home was exactly as described. We got lost a little bit when looking for the place, but everyone around was so dang nice helping us find the place, it was really a non-issue. Get your butt to Harlem! Experience some of the history; the people; the food! It was an easy walk to the train station that further opened our horizons completely. We went everywhere and ate all of the things! Would highly recommend!

Her apartment is bigger than we expected. Anything you may need is provided, and the bed is among the best I've ever slept in! Some NYC-esque noise (sirens, traffic, etc.) in the evening/morning, but it was not a problem for us. There is 24h/24 surveillance in the building for extra safety. The location is top: very easy to reach from the airports (especially LaGuardia), yet very close to Manhattan, on subway lines 2 and 3, and bus M1. We never met Sabia personally, but she was always available for our many requests. And she provided us the longest list of how-to-reach/what-to-see/where-to-go in the surroundings!
