It's proximity to downtown is one of Ambrose House's selling points. The place is in a safe part of Charlottetown and is within walking distance to downtown. It was also easy to find and there's parking on either side of the house.
Bateson was hospitable and accommodating to our needs. We showed up late and he had to leave the house for a bit so he left our room key in a lock box for us to pick up while he was gone which was nice of him.
The three of us shared one room with one queen bed and a twin bed. They were super comfy, although the room itself was a bit cramped for a trio. It was generally pretty quiet even though the place was booked solid. There's a small shared kitchen on our floor with a stove, plates and bowls that you can use for small meals, preparing fruit etc. It's definitely convenient to have and not something you'd usually get with most hotel rooms.
The bathroom is shared between three other rooms so there might be times when you have to wait your turn but we didn't encounter any major issues with the other guests. It was clean, if a bit under stocked on toilet paper and low on hand soap.
We checked out the next morning and had a complimentary continental breakfast waiting for us.
Overall, great value.
