Very good Northern Neck retreat, quiet and relaxing. If you need specialized electronic entertainment plan accordingly. cell phone reception is fine. Ceiling fans throughout are comfortable . Most things were available. We took a couple of folding chairs for the dock but think there may have been some in the closet. A convenience store a little closer would have been nice, expect to drive several miles for that ice cream craving.

Everything was just as described. We put on a few large family dinners and the kitchen was more than adequate for 2-3 chefs. It was a great home-base for exploring the NN, Bell Isle, Westmorland State Park and Reedville. Flocks of geese greeted us each morning in the field across the street. We missed the sunsets but the view is surely spectacular at night with the lights across the bay.

Scott's house is just as described - a clean, well-appointed and comfortable river house with terrific views and a quiet, relaxing rural environment. All the information he provided in advance with friendly and timely emails made us feel welcome and prepared to have a good time. We'll definitely come back.

Scott User ProfileScott is a superhost.

I grew up in Richmond, VA and spent many hours each summer on the James river, Chesapeake Bay and intercostal waters of Eastern Shore Virginia where my dad grew up. Naturally I just love being on the river in the Northern Neck of VA and enjoy all the great things about this part of the state--fresh produce and seafood, beautiful parks, wineries, historical landmarks, etc.
