The space

For the safety of guests and the host, who lives on-site, a security key for the front door of the house is provided. In the uncommon event that the key is lost or not returned at the end of your stay, the security deposit is in place to cover the cost of re-securing the property.

This cozy, comfortable room is on the second floor and is furnished with a single bed (with optional fold out single bed for a second person at an additional cost of $15/night), a desk & chair, easy chair, bookcase, chest of drawers, & generous closet space.

Guest access

Other areas accessible to you are the main living room area, a large VEGETARIAN kitchen, and a lovely backyard and deck.

Keep in mind that “vegetarian kitchen” means there is no preparing or cooking of meat or fish on the premises.

Interaction with guests

I'll be available to greet you on arrival, show you to your room, and orient you to the household and neighbourhood amenities. At times during your stay when I am at work & not physically accessible, you will be able to communicate with me through phone, email, or text.

I stayed at Lynn's place for a total of 40days while working at UofT. This was an amazing stay! Would definitely recommend it to anyone who appreciate a comfortable and quiet home. The location is also perfect 2 min away from TTC station and in the heart of greektown one of the lively neighbourhood in Toronto. My room was exactly as presented online, sunny and full of charm. Lynn is a very interesting and agreeable host. We had multiple fun and interesting chats over the course of my stay. Thanks again for everything Lynn!

Lynn’s place was quaint and is as represented in the photos. The property is right near a train station and just minutes from the downtown area. The one problem that I did have was that after receiving a tour of the place she asked me for a security deposit ($30) in order to receive the key. I was taken back as this was never mentioned during our communication and after reviewing the listing profile, its not mentioned there either. Moreover, off-site exchange of money is in violation of airbnb’s policies. See: This made for a very awkward and uncomfortable moment as I didn’t have any cash on me. I was traveling from the US to Toronto and hadn’t had the opportunity to go to the ATM. This was also a bit of an inconvenience as I had to go to a currency exchange in order to get US dollars (she said she would accept either US or CAD) as I didn’t want to be stuck with CAD when the security deposit was returned to me (at the end of my stay) as I would not be able to do anything with that currency back home. While I have no problem paying a security deposit, I just wish I was notified earlier. Moreover, I think the larger problem is that this is an actual violation of airbnb’s policy, which aims to limit or rid hand-to-hand exchange of money. I’ve rented through airbnb quite a bit and have never done any type of hand-to-hand exchange of money! The security deposit should be done through airbnb where both the host and visitor are protected. Yes, I did receive my money back, but I was very leery handing over money to a complete stranger with no documentation or way of ensuring that I would get it back. Charming place and decent host, but the discomfort of the security deposit situation was very off putting.

Response from Lynn:
Thank-you Jeanelle for full disclosure of how the key deposit situation affected your visit. I'm so sorry that this happened as it was my intention to give you the best experience possible during your visit. The key deposit situation felt awkward to me too which is why I decided to give you the key upfront since it appeared that accessing funds might not be possible for you. I was surprised and appreciative of your efforts when you provided the deposit afterall. In light of the larger problem, I had no idea that asking for a refundable key deposit, which I've been doing for 16 years, before becoming an AirBnB host, was a violation of AirBnB policies. I've spoken with AirBnB about it. Going forward the security deposit for the key will be handled online through the AirBnB booking system. Thanks again for choosing me as your host. Wishing you the best! Cheerful Regards, Lynn

Lynn is a very nice lady, who is always willing to help you as a guest, she is also a very wise lady, who I enjoyed talking to. My host was so welcoming. Met me at the door at the appointed time. Checking in was a breeze. Went out of her way to make sure I had all that I needed to make my space more comfortable. Always checking in with me. Could not have been more accommodating. The neighbourhood was so perfect for me as I was visiting my son and his family two streets away. The house had a peaceful feeling to it and it was very quiet for sleeping.
