Enjoy Summer in The Adirondacks at Ruby Hill Cabins

The space

Newly constructed log sided cabin with all new appliances and furnishings. Private dock on Lake Algonquin and a three minute walk to the Town Beach (we'll even supply a wagon to transport those beach chairs, cooler and beach toys). One mile from the boat launch.

One bathroom with tub and shower and washer/dryer. Fully furnished modern kitchen with stainless electric stove, microwave and refrigerator. Living room with 32' flat screen TV with built in DVD player, Dish Network, WiFi and furnished with unique Adirondack style furniture.

A full size screened in porch is perfect for reading, relaxing (or maybe napping) in the afternoon or a peaceful dinner in the evening. The kids will probably want to sleep out there so don't forget the air mattress and sleeping bags.

Take a short walk to Torts Ice Cream Shop or the Community Hall for tennis, basketball or the playground. Enjoy dinner at the Alpine Restaurant and don't miss the experience (and great food) of stepping back forty years into an authentic, friendly Adirondack family owned diner at the Hope Diner just five miles south of town.

We are located about a 1 hour scenic drive to Lake George and The Great Escape Theme Park and the Adirondack Museum at Blue Mountain Lake so you can take a day trip and still return to the peace and quiet of your cabin in the woods.

We provide an ideal cabin for the family that wants to experience an Adirondack vacation in the woods with the convenience of nearby lake access, hiking, boating or just exploring. An experience that will keep you coming back year after year.

Great place. Super clean with great facilities in the kitchen, the washer dryer came in very handy also. Basics such as toilet paper, kitchen paper, soap and detergent are all provided which was great. The house is perfect size for a couple staying, please note there are no wardrobes to store clothes and limited space for luggage, but we made use of the upstairs room for changing in and storing luggage. The canoe was super fun to take out on the wonderful lake just below the house. We also had daily morning visits from a family of wild turkeys and a beaver. Nearest supermarket is about 15 minutes drive so it's best to bring food with you from a larger supermarket on the way. Great location for hiking in the high Peak wildernesses also loads of shorter walks nearby the house. Although we didn't get to meet Gerry and Susan in person, they rang the house to make sure everything was ok and we had everything we needed. Thanks again for letting us stay with you we are looking forward to coming back sometime soon.

Ruby Hill Cabins are a wonderful place to stay when visiting the Adirondacks. Gerry and Susan are great hosts and answered our many questions. Be sure to visit Augar Falls, close by and worth the short hike. Also, visit the Alpine Restaurant, delicious food and friendly service.

This cabin is just as described!!! Gerry and Susan are available 24/7 if needed. The cabin has all the modern amenities that your house has but has a true Adirondack feel. Gerry and Susan keep their property immaculate. Hope to rent again from these fine folks!!!

Cabin is just as pictured, very clean & charming. It is small inside, just right for a couple but I think the living/eating area would be a bit crowded for more (loft has 2 twin beds). We did enjoy eating on the screened in porch. The bed is full, not queen size but is comfortable. There is a lack of closet space, & we ended up storing some things in the loft. There are ceiling fans to cool the cabin during the day, & the nights were cool even in July. Wells is a tiny town on Lake Algonquin- the closest town with any stores or amenities is in Speculator, about 15 mins away. We liked the fact that it is not overdeveloped or a tourist trap. It was a good base for exploring the Adirondacks- we took a day trip to Lake George, about 1 hr away. Saratoga Springs is also not too far. We hiked to Augar Falls which was a 10-min drive & worth the side trip. We didn't use Gerry & Susan's kayaks as we don't know how but they are across the street & down some steps to their dock. The cabin is close to Rte 30 which makes it easy to get to but we could sometimes hear road noise from the highway especially on the weekends. The cabin is not lakefront but across a small street from the lake, which you can see through the trees. There is Dish TV, bring some games & books in case of rain- there's nothing nearby to do indoors. Would recommend Ruby Hill if you're looking to get away from it all.

Gerry & Susan were exceptional hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed and then left us to our vacation. They were easily reachable if we needed anything. The cabin was very private and quiet. The area was as advertised!!! We will definitely be back!!!

We had a great time in the cabin! Very comfortable spot and the location is fantastic. We'd love to return and experience the Adirondacks in the fall.

We had a great time at this cabin. It is in walking distance of a public beach, and there are many close hiking trails. The screened in porch was perfect and we had a great stay here with our toddler son. The kitchen is very well stocked, and the owners were very helpful, while also respecting privacy. We appreciated they were available if we needed them, which we didn't but they were very hospitable.
