Come stay in one of the most elegant and centrally located condos in Cambridge. I am located between Harvard and Porter Square, 5 minutes walk from the Harvard Law School and just 10 minutes walk from Harvard Square.
This study holds an extremely comfortable sofa bed, a desk, and an antique dresser for your use, and looks out on an exclusive garden and patio. The room is long and narrow, approximately 16.5 x 5.5 feet. It's the perfect space for a visiting scholar or someone coming to visit Boston who wants to work and tour. The room has three East and one South facing windows, and gets natural light the entire day. The room and house are extremely quiet, surrounded by several old-growth shade trees on a one-way street with little traffic. You will sleep extremely well here as our reviews attest, and we've had numerous professional writers and scholars come for a long stay to work.
Guests have access to the kitchen, yard, living room and dining room. Enjoy a continental breakfast in my eat-in kitchen or exclusive garden and patio if the weather permits. Feel free to use the high-speed wireless internet. Washer/dryer is available upon request.
Interaction with guests
I enjoy having my guests be part of my social circle. I love having conversations over a cup of coffee or glass of wine or beer when time allows. If I have a dinner party or barbecue, I invite my guests to participate. Enjoy a continental breakfast in my eat-in kitchen or exclusive garden and patio if the weather permits. You'll be entertained by my Bengal cat Carrie; she is de-clawed and super sweet and loving. I want my guests to feel welcome and integrated with my community.
There is no smoking on the premises. We have a cat, so don't allow any other pets unless it is a service dog.
Guests using the kitchen are asked to leave everything clean and tidy after use. No use of the common spaces or cooking in the kitchen past 11 pm.
Guests are welcome to return at any time of night, however if you return past midnight, we ask you do so quietly and turn off all lights after entering.
No overnight guests or entertaining. Visits by a spouse or partner for long-term guests, or invitations to friends to one of our house parties or gatherings can be arranged by prior agreement.
We do have a second bathroom downstairs through my teaching studio that you are welcome to use from Sunday-Friday mornings and after 9 weekdays. However, I teach students M-F from 2-9 pm and Saturday from 9-3 so it is not free then.
The laundry room is down the front stairs and through my studio past the second bathroom. It can be used anytime on Sunday, Saturday after 4 pm, or in the morning or after 9:30 pm on weekdays as I teach during the afternoons and Saturday.
Guests may not use the downstairs studio or piano without prior permission.
I'm a classical musician. I grew up in Boston and went to school here in Cambridge. I enjoy hosting guests, and am looking forward to meeting people from all parts of the world on Airbnb. Thanks!
