Our stay was wonderful at Marc and Martine's. The cottage is charming and equipped with everything you could possibly need including home made jams and Marc's very own wine. The village is quaint and beautiful and very close to Avignon. It was the best accommodation we had for our whole trip and Marc and Martine are so welcoming, highly recommend

We have visited Villeneuve-les-Avignon more than a dozen times in the same number of years and for the last three of those stayed in the little house hosted by Marc & Martine. Always a wonderful experience in a beautiful area of Provence.

Marc and Martine's place is the perfect location from which to explore Avignon or further afield. It is everything that Marc says it is. The location is great, the garden is a real bonus and overall we found it suited us perfectly for the 3-4 days that we were in this area. Yes the kitchen facility is a little small but we always intended to eat out so that was never a problem. Marc and Martine were always very helpful and we can see why they are ranked as superhosts.

Marc, age 75, is a "Gavot", in fact, a Provençal son of the soil; he is now retired - and after the beginning of an eclectic career in the cheese business, then the shipbuilding, and the food distribution business, he has been in charge of the TACIS programmes of the European Union for the former Soviet Union, (he was living on-the-spot in Central Asia from the Perestroika up to 1998); then, he has been responsible for OECD outsourced commercial activities until 2002.

As hobby, the wine of the “Côtes du Rhône” has no secret for him and it makes the assembly and the promotion of a wonderful wine of Châteauneuf-du-Pape (over-quota for 6,00 € the bottle under label "Les Charmilles". Moreover, there are always some bottles to be tasted in our little host's house to tempt you... (';o))

Furthermore, if you ask for it to him, Marc will indulge to show you the Abbey de la Chartreuse of Villeneuve on a historic plan, compagnonnique and esoteric point of view by making you discover the stereotomie and the Golden Section during the visit.

He is fascinated by History and will make you share his passion if you question him. His blog can usefully serve you in to know more about it, at the appropriate moment.

Martine (to see the Martine's photo, click on the little arrows appearing on that of Mark. . . ) will recommend to you things to see and not to miss in the area, and she has some good addresses for shopping !

For any information do not hesitate to contact us; looking forward the pleasure to be able to receive you in our host's small house!
