The location is my favorite in New Orleans. I am one block to Bayou St. John, one block to the City Park, New Orleans Museum of Art, Sculpture Garden, Botanical Garden, Morning Call, walking distance to Jazz Fest, great restaurants, coffee shops, wine bars, grocery stores, and 2.6 miles down historic Esplanade Avenue from the French Quarter. The neighborhood is called "Faubourg St John" and/or "Parkview."
Safe walkable neighborhood with ample street parking. Easy Uber and taxi service to all NOLA locations (approx. $6 ride to French Quarter as of February 28, 2016. Streetcar line is one house away and will take you directly to French Quarter or transfer to St. Charles Ave. streetcar to see even more sights! Public bus route (Jackson/Esplanade) to French Quarter is also one house away.

A concrete subfloor separates the owner's unit so no need to be concerned about ordinary volumes within the house. I do live in a residential area so ask that guests are mindful of nighttime volumes outside. House is very well maintained by owner and housekeeper. Apartment has its own central ac control. Shared (with owner) patio in rear. Shared access to laundry (guest enters privately from unit. owner enters from rear patio). I live upstairs and would be happy to answer any questions you might have over your stay! Very flexible with check in and check out times unless I have another guest arriving or departing on the same time. Otherwise, take your time and enjoy your stay!

I'd be delighted to share tips while you are here or answer any questions on restaurants and attractions before you arrive! I am a native of New Orleans and know its food scene, cultural events, and architecture well. Otherwise, my default is to respect my guest's privacy. Thanks to the concrete subfloor on the the 2nd story, the odds of our hearing each other are slim!

Smoking on rear patio only. Sorry, no pets! Please no outside visitors or parties without checking with owner. Owner tries to be very flexible with check-in and out times unless the space is rented the day of arrival and/or departure in which case guests will have a 3pm check-in and 11 am check-out to allow for housekeeping. Four guests max unless approved by host in advance. Thanks!!!
Some kids grow up wanting to be astronauts -- I grew up wanting to be the general manager of a hotel! Although my professional career took a far different direction, I do thoroughly enjoy hosting guests! I am a proud NOLA native, love my home city and Parkview / Bayou St. John / City Park neighborhood, and enjoy helping guests enjoy New Orleans like I do! I am an avid boater and sailor and enjoy gardening, architecture and design and exploring the local restaurant scene. I am new to Airbnb as of April 2016. I understand (and share) many people's apprehension to stay in someone's private home. For that reason, I work overtime to respect my guests' privacy; I make sure my home is thoroughly and impeccably clean, with all linens, towels, duvets and bathrobes changed after each stay, and I keep my guests' space stocked with all of the amenities they would expect from the highest quality hotels.
