Arizona State University Professor of French welcomes visitors to his home in downtown Scottsdale. 325 sunny days a year. Guestroom opens onto secluded patio and pool. Private bath. Living and dining rooms open to guests for meals and relaxation. Walking distance to Old Town Scottsdale & restaurants. Flexible check-out (all afternoon if needed) if other guests not expected. SMOKING FRIENDLY IN HOUSE except in guest-room itself. Please phone or write after booking, but no texts please.
I am a laid-back host willing to help with your trip but will absolutely respect your space and privacy. Some guests like to have a drink together on the patio. Others need peace and quiet just to relax and chill. Your privacy will be respected if you are in town for work or just want to hang out at the pool or read and listen to music in the salon. I always tell my guests not to suffer in silence during their stay but to SPEAK UP if something doesn’t suit them. I don’t mind at all. They are paying for a place to stay. If kitchen is not quite in order, tell me, etc. Please use the living room and dining room. They are part of package. Tell me if sheets or towels need changing or if bathroom or pool needs attention. I want your stay to be comfortable and for you to feel at home. Reference: "There is no question that David is a treasure to this world, and now, the airbnb community. I can not think of anyone more interesting and knowledgeable. My husband and I are avid airbnb-ers. We appreciate a good host, a charming environment, and most importantly a nice trip - which includes a nice place to stay. The room available in David's Scottsdale home is directly off the garden and the pool, with a private bathroom directly across the hall, and just around the corner from the kitchen. The house is located in a quiet, pretty, residential neighborhood in the heart of downtown and historic Scottsdale. Walking distance to many things and a very short drive to attractions like the mall or botanical gardens. The house is lovingly cared for, well established and contains fascinating collections of heirloom furniture and artifacts from an intellectual life well lived. There is a stunning baby grand Piano that has the warmest tone imaginable in the front room. We stay at Davids every year when we come to Arizona from New York City. His home, as well as he, holds a special place in our hearts."
