Our stay was enjoyable and Shinichi is hospitable. Serving authentic Japanese food, we also met interesting pilgrims. Well worth a visit if you have the time.

Shin and Myuu will make your travel ten times better! Not only is Shin a craftsman (he makes his own dinnerware, bread, delicious food) but he also has a large selection of drinks to choose from. His English is very good and he's such a happy guy to be around, you will get the most positive vibes. His place is a hostel so it's neat to be around a bunch of travelers even though we didn't meet most of them. They took us to the island and led us on a hike which was beautiful, especially with the Sakura trees blossoming. We honestly feel like we made a friend and we hope to go visit them again soon!

To make it clear to future guests, the breakfast is included for the first guest only. Any additional guests have to pay the full price of breakfast (about 650 yen). Dinner in not included, although the host might make it sound like it is. Dinner costs a bit over 1000 yen and so is the same price as a restaurant. Nevertheless, the food is nice and the host understands vegetarian requirements very well. In the room, there is a list of prices for the rooms, some with breakfast and dinner included, which are very similar to what you're paying on Airbnb, leading to some initial confusion but the host's manner make it seem like everything is already paid for. If it wasn't for the surprise bill at the end, we would have had warm feelings about the place.

Shinichi and his dog Miyuu were two great hosts! I stayed at Shinichi's place for a 4-days stay and could enjoy Shinichi's cuisine everyday, his traditional Japanese cuisine is delicious and his homemade bread a must-try! The place is located 30min by train to Matsuyama city-center so the area is very quiet, located just next to the sea. I got to stay in a traditional japanese room that was very comfortable and clean. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes dogs and cuisine. Also, that's a good place to meet other travelers. また、受け入れてくれてありがとうございました。 お世話になりました。

Shin was VERY welcoming, and flexible. We (3 adults and 6 kids and 1 dog) felt immediately welcomed and very happy to have chosen the place to stay... Right by the ocean and the Seto Inland Islands... VERY beautiful... I was especially happy for the genuine love he showed to my dog Kaya... Very rare and appreciated... There is a beautiful LITTLE island right accross from Shin's place called Kashima (deer island). I would spend my whole day there, with a sweet cafe, swings and things, a sweet shrine, lots of interesting books(at the cafe [japanese books...]) and BEAUTIFUL water with lots of fish, and AMAZING sandy beaches and rocks to climb... twas good...
