We really enjoyed our stay at Woodland Altars this past weekend. The cabin was not super fancy, and hasn't been updated, but it had all the basic necessities we needed to cook and be comfortable for the weekend. The wood burning stove and free firewood provided were great! Although be careful because you can very easily turn the inside of the cabin into a sauna if the fire gets too hot.
The cabin was clean overall, but there were a few dead bugs in the bathrooms, some mouse poop in a few locations, and the window sills were pretty dirty. Didn't appear to have been cleaned shortly before our arrival.
The forest around the cabin was very nice. It has a very peaceful and secluded atmosphere and some great sights for hiking and bird watching.
The cabin listed sleeping arrangements for 13 people (3 double beds, 3 singles, and 3 bunks). There were only sleeping arrangements for 7 people (2 doubles, 3 singles, and 0 bunks). So a couple guys ended up sleeping on the floor.
Overall I really nice location. I would recommend this to others, especially considering the value.
