Enjoy staying at this unique Farmhouse meets Lodge property. Originally built in the late 1800's this home is completely renovated. Close to old down town Mooresville. County setting with acreage and silly chickens. Inn Keepers live in house

The space

The upstairs bedrooms are original to our 1860's Farm house including heart pine floors, plaster walls and non working original fireplaces (candle lit) and period correct decor. Relax in comfort with climate control, luxury linens and comfortable mattresses. Come down stairs and enjoy our Lodge type decor featuring Cypress wood walls, 3 stacked stone fireplaces and a nice space to enjoy movies. Join us in the morning for farm fresh eggs, bacon, toast and hot coffee or tea. You can also start your morning (or end your evening) with a soak in our outside Jacuzzi.

Guest access

Guest can enjoy the use of the spa and movie room upon request. The covered front porch is available for sitting and conversation or use the back porch for more privacy. Our silly chickens have full range of the property so the entertainment is free.

Interaction with guests

We will interact with our guest as much or as little has they request. Breakfast will be served family style in the kitchen each morning of your stay with our Farm fresh eggs. Wine fridge provided.

Other things to note

We are located on route 150 and it is a well traveled road but the traffic dies down around 9 o'clock in the evening. The house sits facing 150 with woods and 1 cleared acre in the rear. The quest bath is located downstairs and the bedrooms are upstairs.

My wife and I came to the Silly Chicken Lodge initially to celebrate family history and to bask a bit in nostalgia in that this is the home place in which her mother was born. That goal was achieved and then some! The visit which included her mother and sister became an unforgettable trip down memory lane wrapped in the comfy and well appointed confines of the upgraded home. Our hosts John and Karen could not have offered a more gracious welcome, a better lavish farm breakfast and a tour of the property. Our day was capped off by a peaceful visit on the sprawling front porch as we took in a soothing summer rain and had the pleasant surprise of fresh stove topped popcorn delivered to the mix by the hosts unsolicited! The Silly Chicken Lodge does feature live and lovely chickens and the eggs which they produce. The company is exceptional and the beds and bathrooms lovely and lavish. We LOVED our stay and will heartily recommend to friends and family!!

John and Karen couldn't have been more welcoming. Everything was easy. The bed was great, the pillow was awesome...and a great breakfast. A great place for Davidson alums to stay if they have activities in Davidson. Very friendly dog. Mooresville has come a long way but they still have the What-a Burger thank goodness.

I am 60 years old, married and enjoy woodworking, taking care of our chickens and two dogs. I love visiting my grandson and spending time with my wife and family. I am outgoing and love to interact with new people. For relaxation I enjoy cruising on my Triumph motorcycle.
