If you are looking for peace and tranquility in a beautiful setting, you'll find it Quintalone.
The house enjoys a unique location with stunning views of the countryside and the Pyrenees.

The space

Ever been tempted to get away from the stress and hustle and bustle of the city? Fancy a trip to the heart of the countryside, with time to look around you and enjoy the calm and simplicity of a different style of life?

Imagine a large country house and its attendant guest house set in seven acres of garden with a view across the Ariège Valley to the Pyrénées beyond. Welcome to Quintalone.

Qunitalone, a property in the Lauragais hills, 35 km south of Toulouse,is a haven of peace and quiet, just 5 minutes from Auterive village with its local produce market, cinema, riverside café and open-air dancing, and the usual range of services and shops.

Entirely independent of the country house itself, which is the residence of the owners, I and D, who are on hand to attend to all your needs with both discernment and discretion, the guest house contains 230m2 of carefully planned and renovated space, with accommodation for 8. Two parking spaces, one a garage, are reserved for your convenience.

It has 3 large bedrooms with en suite bathroom facilities. The 56m2 main bedroom, located upstairs, has a 160X200 double bed, a small reading room, and an en suite bathroom with bath, double washbasin and wc. Ceiling beams divide the living space naturally into waking and sleeping quarters, with light filtering through numerous windows to create an atmosphere of warmth and intimacy.

The other upstairs bedroom contains 4 single beds, ideal for children. Between the 2 bedrooms there is a self-contained bathroom with shower, double washbasin and wc.

A third bedroom is situated on the ground floor. It has a 160X200 double bed and en suite bathroom with bath, double wc and laundry space.
The wc is separate. This is a sunlit room overlooking the gardens and swimming pool.

The kitchen/dining room is spacious and convivial with a central workspace and table for 10. The corner fireplace will be especially appreciated in winter, and the kitchen also has access to a sheltered patio, sunlit terrace and the gardens. The gardens contain lots of things for children to do.

The adjoining living-room, with its comfortable chairs and cosy, colourful cushions, is equipped with a flat screen TV, DVD player, hifi system and wi-fi connection. On the walls are a selection of sketches from the owner’s erstwhile art gallery in Toulouse, whereas other rooms contain paintings and sculptures that create an original decorative style. All exhibited pieces are on sale.

Having most probably spent a busy day discovering this remarkable region, you will finally be able to relax in and around the swimming pool with its magnificent view over the valley and distant mountains. The pool is protected from the garden by a door, fencing around the pool itself and an alarm indicating any immersion. While the adults are drinking their apéritifs, children will find plenty of attractions in the gardens: swings, open air games... This is Quintalone !

The house is wonderfully presented as per the pictures. A high attention to detail and a well appointed kitchen if you like to cook. It was a quiet tranquil setting, a beautiful spot for us, our two young boys and my husbands parents. The boys, 3 and 6 absolutely adored the house as well as the small gifts they received from the hosts under their pillow! Such a kind gesture!

Isabelle and Dominique were incredible hosts... our transportation was delayed so we missed the market, they checked us in late, and helped us find local food to eat. I needed to visit the doctor during our stay, they arranged the appointment. They really went above and beyond as super hosts for this trip. And the house... it was like living in a perfectly manicured art gallery, even more lovely in-person than the photos can show. Also, the location was quiet yet ideal for exploring both city and countryside. We would not hesitate to come back and stay again, it was the perfect relaxing French get-away.

Isabelle's house is amazing - everything is true to the pictures and great for large groups. We were 7 work friends and found everything just right (the kids room is fun for adults too! ). We especially appreciated being able to move the check in and check out times to suit our needs. As a host Isabelle was on hand with restaurant recommendations and answered questions promptly - in the end the weather was so nice we spent most of the time lazing around the lovely pool area.

We stayed at this property just after Christmas and had a lovely few days there - even in Winter we got a gorgeous view of the Pyrenees and the area. It made me want to definitely come back over the summer. Isabelle and Domoinique were always prompt in replying to all my message and were a delight to meet when we arrived. They were very helpful in showing us around and giving us tips on where to travel too. The house was very spacious and very clean. We were greeted with items in the fridge and a few other treats. The kitchen was just wonderful to cook in. Great frying pans and saucepans and a great oven/stove top. Very well stocked (which I loved as I cooked most of our meals). I had four teenagers with me and the wifi kept them happy. The rooms were spacious and accommodated us all very well. I absolutely loved this part of France and definitely would come back to this exact spot again with a group of friends. Thank you Isabelle and Domoinique.

This house was a wonderful place to stay with our two families (4 adults, 4 small children). When we arrived, we were welcomed by Isabelle who gave us a tour around the beautifully furnished house. There were some local delicacies in the fridge and fresh flowers on the table, on the beds there were even small presents for the children! The renovation of the house is very tasteful, without it being too new or too fancy. Everything is provided from linen to towels, from laundry detergent to toys for the children. All the rooms are very spacious, beds are extremely comfortable, bathrooms airy and the kitchen is magnificent. The swimming pool is clean and has the perfect size to either play or really swim in. There are chairs and umbrellas around the pool, so you can enjoy the beautiful view on the mountains. The thing we enjoyed the most was the very welcoming character of our hosts, Isabelle and Dominique. Both are friendly, helpful and sincere. If you're looking for tranquillity, a child friendly environment and pretty views, this is the place to be!

A bientôt,
Isabelle
