This studio was wonderful & had all the amenities needed for a 6 night stay. The location is great, away from busy Waikiki, but there are still restaurants & grocery stores nearby. I was able to get a few morning jogs to/from the beach park (~1.2 miles round trip from the studio). Annie was a perfect host; she was there at arrival to greet & show us around the property. We'll definitely be back!

Very clean and had everything we needed for our short 3 day stay. We made use of the pool and the kayaks! The neighborhood was quiet. Steven responded quickly to questions and was easy going. Thanks!

Traveling from Toronto to Hawaii was a bit of a long haul but we were greeted by Steven and Tea who showed us around the place. Everything was clean, air conditioning was on and the place was cool. All essentials were there and ready to be used. The pool is FANTASTIC. It's an added bonus for sure. We fell in love with Hawaii and if we don't end up buying our own place here, we will definitely stay at Annie's again:) Thank you for going above and beyond for us!

We could not have chosen a better place to stay... After days of researching hotels and vacation packages in downtown Honolulu & Waikiki, we stumbled upon this Canal Front Studio option. From a purely economic perspective, it was strongest: free parking, kitchen with dining ware, private pool, laundry, free water sports gear (and tons of it! snorkeling, kayaking, boogie boards, noodles, picnic gear, life vests, beach towels, etc.), and all that for waaaay cheaper than a single hotel room. With respect to lifestyle preferences, it offered the comfort of a personal space, tranquility, ceiling to floor windows, skylight!, an area that is not tourist-infested, renovated accommodations, beautiful views island plants, the pool, the canal, or mountains from every window, and similar perks to hotels (shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer, on-demand TV, Wi-Fi, tons of towels, guestbook, iron, etc.). The Hawaii Kai neighborhood is like a wealthy suburb on the water; it is easy to travel in and out (check travel time apps during morning rush hour), find good places to eat, and get plenty of beautiful beach time. And most importantly, Annie is awesome. She was flexible with our late check-in, is extremely personable but offered full privacy during our stay, and went out of her way to help us enhance our vacation (like rummaging to find a pair of binoculars when we mentioned our helicopter ride). If you plan to rent a car and explore the island, this is the PERFECT place to stay. Then again, if you prefer to be near clubs and bars so you can party and drink well into the night (vacation means something different to us all), then a hotel in Waikiki would make more sense than an AirBnB in Hawaii Kai. That said, we are definitely planning to come back with friends to rent the whole house :)

My husband and I recently stayed here for 8 days. This is a lovely studio exactly as described in the listing. After an 11 hour flight, we were grateful to meet friendly faces and find a welcoming, cool, comfortable place with fresh flowers and multiple amenities. Location is fantastic, quiet, private and in close proximity to many conveniences (shopping, restaurants, recreation). The studio has a private entrance with fence and a beautiful pool area with a canal front view and lounge chairs to enjoy. Beautiful plumeria trees shower the area with perfect blooms. Inside there is a kitchen area, large modern bathroom, seating area, dining table and queen bed. Studio very comfortable - perfect for a relaxing vacation! Would absolutely recommend!

We had a great time at Annie & Ed's place. It's in a residential area southeast of Honolulu. The area is quieter than in Honolulu proper and it's close to some great beaches and outdoor activities such as snorkeling in Hanauma Bay. The kayaking was great too!

Response from Annie:
Thanks Matt. Glad you liked our place. And yes, the kayaking is fun, isn't it?
