Close to the shopping centre and short tuk tuk ride from all local night life. Vajira made everything so easy for us. The apartment was clean and tidy with a great rooftop pool. We also got to meet Vajira in person and he was a fantastic guy, he recommended some great places to eat and drink. One place of note would be the gallery, food and drink was great and the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend his accommodation and Sri Lanka is such a beautiful place.

We stayed at this apartment for three weeks during our medical elective studies at the National hospital of Sri Lanka. The apartment is clean, spacious and well equipped. The towels and linens were clean, but had som stains. The apartment is located close to the hospital, to a supermarket and many restaurants. Walking distance to many attractions in Colombo. The communication was always friendly. If we had a question, it didn't take many minutes before we got the answer (via e-mail or what's up). Vajira and Amilia even helped us book a trip to Adam's peak (they also called us to make sure we had the most important information, and safety instructions, before the walk). When our flight home departed in the middle of the night, they accepted late check out which meant a lot for us. Wifi was working great for most of the time. When it didn't work, Amilia was there in a couple of minutes trying to help us. The roof top pool was wonderful (and clean) after a long day at the hospital. There is also a small gym (mostly for cardio) with an amazing view over the city. I would absolutely recommend this place for a shorter or longer visit.

Thanks Anna for your lovely review and it was a pleasure having all of you with us. We hope all your work at the hospital went as planned and wish you good luck in the future as doctors.

The T & V team are extremely helpful and friendly. The Hedge Court apartments are lovely and spacious whilst being centrally located very close to local sites. Thank you for all your help whilst we were in Columbo, very quick responses to queries of any nature via a handy (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) group. Also a great WiFi connection. Thanks again Vajira, we will surely book again if we return to the area in future. Kind regards Raj

After migrating back from Sydney to Colombo, we spend 11 days in Vajira's place and we had a great time. The place is central to all in Colombo, interior done nicely, fast communication with Vajira and his team, the place was cleaned and linen was changed very frequently during our time. Also the roof-top pool was an attraction.

Hello there.....a little note about myself and things to do in Colombo and Sri Lanka....

I am a spiritual person who likes Yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda. I have travelled extensively throughout the world and most of my travels have been backpacking and I have couchsurfed in most places.

I shuttle between London and Colombo as I have interest in both locations.

I manage 6 apartments at Hedges Court and a few in Colombo 5 which is more like a residential hub of Colombo.....both locations having the best of transport links.

I have travelled the length and breadth of Sri Lanka and would say I know Sri Lanka quite well. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need someone to make a plan on where to go in Sri Lanka.

I am also a travel writer and used to write in the Ceylon Today newspaper on various destinations in Sri Lanka if you want I can email some of the articles so that you would know in detail what to do....

A standard itinerary on must do things in Sri Lanka....

Colombo - Bars / Pubs / Restaurants and Night Life

Sightseeing

Beira Lake, Seema Malake, Gangaramaya Temple, Viharamahadevi Park, Kelaniya Temple, Dutch Hospital, Pettah Market, Colombo Dutch Museum, Galle Face Green, Mount Lavinia Beach, Independence Square, Colombo National Musuem & Colombo Zoo

Shopping

Majestic City, Liberty Plaza, Crescat Boulevard, Odel Unlimited, Paradise Road, Barefoot & Lakpahana

Dambulla or Habarana - Dambulla Rock Cave Temple and Sigiriya Rock Fortress (on the way to Dambulla / Habarana visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage)

Using Dambulla or Habarana as a base visit Anuradhapura (Sri Lanka's first capital) then Polonnaruwa (Sri Lanka's second capital) on the way back from Polonnaruwa visit the Minneriya National Park and see Elephants especially the elephant migration in Aug / Sep.

Kandy - Temple of Tooth Relic, Embekke Temple, Lankatilaka Vihare and Gadaladeniya Temple and in the evening the Kandy Cultural Show.

Nuwara Eliya - Called Little England is an excellent place if you want to get away from the heat. Horton Plains is the only national park that you can go on foot on a designated path.

Ella - A hippie villa and is a lovely place to spend a couple of days. Nuwara Eliya and Ella have locations popular with the Indian Epic Ramayanaya.

Yala National Park - Go for an early morning or late afternoon safari to spot a leopard or two.

Now you can use the expressway and get to Mirissa / Weligama / Galle / Bentota fairly quickly and enjoy the beaches.

Mirissa is the best place to see Whales and Dolphins during Oct - Mar.
Weligama Bay is an ideal place to learn surfing.
Galle is a must do place and visit the Galle Fort
