With a great location, and plenty of space, I wouldn't recommend against staying here for a short period. Sidi is a nice guy with whom it is is easy to communicate. However, future guests should know that the place is not adequately maintained. The toilet was not working properl…
Response from Sidi:
Ok, some element of truth to this review by Chase, but mostly innacurate. 1. Though there was the issue with the toilet running water (so increasing water usage for the building) the toilet itself should have been functional from all practical matters for a user using it. Only slight issue with the handle, when This reviewer took the place (where you had to hold the handle a bit longer than normal For it to flush). By the end of Chase’s time there the handle had completely come off, but he never once brought up the issue, so obviously I couldn’t fix it while he was there. 2. A couple of months ago My first child was born, so though I might have seemed a bit less hands on about fixing the window leaking issue Chase brought up, the fact is that the leaking only happened one time (during the biggest storm of the year I might add) so I was waiting to see if it would happen again because I really never saw it happen - just heard from the tenant at the time that it was leaking. Since it never happened again, and I wasn’t there to see it the first time, I couldn’t figure out what to do exactly. To this day that window hasn’t leaked again. So it is true there was this element of me not being there all the time, and seeming more hands off because of the birth of my son (for example, though the toilet was functional, having to hold the handle a bit longer than normal should have been addressed- which I have addressed since by the time Chase left the apartment it had completely fallen off, so I had to replace it entirely). 3. Not communicating properly with the long term tenant (who occupies the second room in the apartment) about Chase’s arrival - true, I did only give him 24 hour notice (which in my mind wasn’t terrible), when I could have give him more time than that. 4. About the tenant that was taking Chase’s room moving in early, and it not being fair to them to have to clean Chase’s room: a tricky situation. Background - They were long term (for a whole year) tenants moving in that i found through (Hidden by Airbnb) (not Airbnb). I actually did them a favor by letting them move in early, since they didn’t have a place to stay (they stayed in the second bedroom in the apartment), and yes, that required them getting Chase’s room the next day when Chase moved without me having had a chance to clean it (which happened later) - but that was, again, a favor I did them by saving them money on not having to rent a hotel an additional night, so not unfair at all, obviously.
Sidi is a very relaxed guy and easy- going host. He wasn't at home when we arived but he made sure that we got the key easily. Nice to know for future European guests: he speaks French and a bit of German! The apartment and bedroom are airconditioned and the location is perfect: …
