THE GALLERY is a block from the beach in the heart of Cherry Grove and has a large pool. It accommodates 12 to 15. We also rent: BREEZY which accommodates 16 to 24 and is on the same block. It has a large pool. And SIMPLY BEACHY accommodates 12 to 18 and is three (3) blocks away . Think about renting all three (3) for special events like family reunions and spring break. Book a short stay to check us out and negotiate terms for a special event.

UPPER LEVEL also has a large enclosed Porch and Deck - a great place to gather and play games rain or shine.
Laundry Room, Screen Porch, Patio and Enclosed Outdoor Showers (See Pictures): 3 roll-a-way beds are stored and available upon request.

Guest access

•Essential supplies are provided to last a day or more depending on the size of your group and length of stay. As a minimum, we provide two rolls of tissue and hand soap in each bathroom as well as paper towels, hand soap, laundry detergent and dish washing soap and some kitchen items. We also try to keep a supply of cleaning and related supplies for your convenience. Large groups and week-long Guests will need to shop for supplies. Sheets and pillows will be provided and towels can be rented for $5.

Interaction with guests

Our house is next door to THE GALLERY and and BREEZY and 3 blocks from "SIMPLY BEACHY". Guest interaction depends of Guest Preferences. We have "entertained" Guests in a variety of ways - beverages on our Widow's Walk, Carolina Boil where equipment can be rented to Guests and they provide shrimp-corn-potatoes, etc & and their time. We have had some very festive times. We like to get to know our Guests. But we respect their privacy. We try to accommodate special needs upon request

Other things to note

Boulineu's is across the street and has some of the best fried chicken in Myrtle Beach. Also across the street from a fantastic pizza place, Basil's.

This is a family oriented neighborhood. Our house is the only one on the block rented to very large groups. We are not intrusive but monitor behavior. We have video recorders outside and some neighbors also have them. Inappropriate behavior will be detected and recorded with appropriate actions taken. We want you to enjoy your time at the beach while respecting the privacy and well being of our neighbors.

This is definitely an old school type of beach house and was perfect for what we needed. It has rooms that lead into other rooms so that may not work for everyone but it wasn't a problem for us. Al was a great host and was very accommodating with providing what we needed. The location was an easy access to the beach and to the grocery store. We parked our cars and only had to take them out a couple of times. The floors were a little sandy but we took care of that.

The host and housekeeping were really friendly and accommodating. I came into town earlier than expected and they still allowed me to check in. The area wasn't too busy and was relatively quiet at night.

I am a retired Professor of Economics (University of Georgia). I have written many articles and several books and remain active intellectually and otherwise. I am also active on various social media sites. My rental housing venture is mainly to keep involved with younger people and to pursue my interests in in historic preservation. This property is an example. Three years ago the house was a beach-front duplex on a foundation. It was gifted to Habitat for Humanity so we purchased, moved and renovated. Houses two blocks from the beach are in a flood plane so we had to raise it 14 feet, build a "cradle" under it and install pilings. North Myrtle Beach building codes are very strict so we were required to make it a single family dwelling. We did so by connecting the Upper and Lower floors with an indoor stairway. However, we also installed new doorways on each level with dead bolt locks to ensure privacy for groups that desire some privacy. The house has all new windows, siding, electric wiring, pluming and two additional bathrooms. There are very few empty lots in Cherry Grove so new construction and major renovations like the one we undertook usually require tearing down older and usually smaller houses. This was a major project but preserves some of the "old style" beach houses. We have also renovated which is a classic example of houses built in the 1950s..
