We loved our stay! It was the perfect house and location for our family of 7 adults. We like to be in a neighborhood and this one was wonderful. We walked to Whole Foods, P.J.'s coffee, Romney Studios (the best fitness location - 150 classes a week) and our new favorite restaurant, Toast, at least one of us was there everyday for breakfast. We also fell in love with Octavia Books a real, old fashion bookstore, less than a block away. The owner, Tom, was interesting, helpful and full of New Orleans history. The house was exactly what we were looking for; big, open and new. The kitchen had every appliance, gadget or pot we needed, the living room had plenty of comfortable seating and my boys were thrilled with the TV! There were more than enough bathrooms, we were short one bed but Martin supplied us with an air mattress with worked perfectly because the bedrooms are so large. There is a cute patio with string lights outside and outdoor furniture which Martin supplied in time for our stay. There is a back space that they are still working on but it will be a great man cave one day. Some of the things I appreciated most as a renter were:
Plenty of towels in every bathroom
Extra sheets for all the beds
Extra pillows and blankets
The ease of keeping the house clean - because it is so spacious, new and not cluttered. Also, the floors are amazing, original hardwood from the house, they were beautiful and very easy to keep clean.
Martin was an attentive host. Supplying us with the outdoor furniture, the air mattress, coming over on Christmas Eve to help us turn the oven on, and always available via phone or text.
The only issues were a danger when closing the front door - fingers get caught in it. Also, the trash was missed on the day we arrived and we had to call to have Martin remove it.
We all were sad to leave and can't wait to return - it was a magical Christmas together as a family.
