An and her assistants were very easy to deal with. An was prompt in replying to all my emails and her house rules were very easy to understand. The studio was spacious and very quiet. With the murphy bed tucked into the wall, it is the same size as a large one bedroom. The bed was very comfortable. The studio had everything I need in the kitchen and nice linens and towels. The complex is nice with many amenities including a pool and hot tub and bbq’s at the grill. Very close to everything. Walking distance to the beach and bay as well Trader Joe’s, Von’s, and many restaurants. Good value for the money. I would stay again in a heart beat.

We got only a couple messages sent back and forth before we were approved the studio which was fine. But we did not get any info that we needed regarding check in until an hour before our arrival. Once we did she mentioned she was out of town and she had limited service which is okay, just sent us into panic mode as we traveled 7 hours to get there. However she sounded very nice over the phone. Once we arrived we had to meet up with her assitant. her assistant was very nice and the place was okay from first look nothing spectacular (which we knew from the beginning being in the group of the cheaper places on AIR BNB) Once we settled in we noticed all the stains on the carpet and all we had was a sliding door 2steps always from tons of cars for fresh air, which were noisy starting @6am from people getting in and out of the cars and all the talking. She noted it would be no more than 10min walk to the beach it was 35-50mins! However driving it took 5-10mins MAX with stop signs and stop lights which was great but we were looking for a place to walk from and we got the wrong impression. The bathroom after a shower smelt like urine, after humidity was gone it didn't have a smell. The Murphy bed was surprisingly comfy and the pool/spa was amazing! The studio had a well amount of space for the 2 of us who stayed. Not that An had anything to do with this or could do anything about it but During our stay we had 2 keys for the door one of which for the door handle the very tip of the key Broke off in the door with just normal use which added on top of the inconvenience, we ended up having to use the top lock to lock the door it was doable, not horrible. The parking was on the street, during the day it was fine but once night came it was nearly impossible to find one so I would suggest getting an uber or bringing bikes to ride around. The place felt safe which is a super plus. We checked out with a different assitant and he was nice and pleasant to talk with as well, check out had no hassle and was a breeze.

Response from An:
First off, Sierra returned the key BROKEN IN HALF. When she was asked what happened she said it broke off in the lock. If you have ever had a key break off in a door, which has happened before when guests have put the wrong key in the wrong lock, you need a lock smith to come, disassemble the lock and remove the broken key. So I have to ask myself, what really happened. Think about it, how do you get the broken part out on your own???? I can only say that Sierra's review matches the snide look on her face on her profile picture. Sierra did not get any info before arriving as she was in her car, and said she couldn't receive emails during her 7 hour drive. I provided Sierra, as I do all of my guests, with my TWO local assistants phone numbers should she need anything. And she had the number to call me, which is a land line while in the national forest, so no, there would be no instant cell phone answering from me. My assistants however were available at the pus hot a button. Two of them. As you can see from the person who stayed after Sierra, he thinks the place is great. Moreover, it is tiresome on Airbnb to run into people who don't communicate at all during their stay if they felt something was wrong. When I get a review like this is is usually after they have broken something and don't want to pay for it, or are thinking they will get a bad review and thus will go negative to look better. Here is the private feedback she sent in her review "She hooked us up with her assistance for everything and she was very easy to work with and she made it easy for us. . . . it was an okay stay over all. You were very nice over the phone and so was your assitant. We kept the place as nice as we found it."

I live near the beach, so we love- All things having to do with the water. I am a very friendly sort and when it town can be a font of information. I really enjoy telling or showing people the interesting "secret" places to go.

Having been to all 7 continents, over 100 countries, all 50 states, and a bunch of islands that I don't think have names, I can say it is a delight to stay in a home/apartment rather than a cookie cutter hotel, even an elegant cookie cutter hotel. I travel always with my own small perfect pillow, even on the plane. It makes wherever I lay my head more comfy, even if it's a hammock in Bora Bora.

My motto is there are no strangers only friends you haven't met yet. Happy Hour on the roof always yields such great stories of what my guests saw and did that day, and sunset can't be beat. But if you are just looking for a place to lay your head while visiting family, we might not even see each other the whole time. Whatever works for you works for me, it's your vacation to enjoy as you wish.
