Take a 20 min. lightrail from the airport to City Center Station, walk 10 mins. via Temple Square & you arrive at this cozy, historic sanctuary for only $2.50 one-way. Walk 15 mins. to the Salt Palace Convention Center or 5 mins. to Citycreek Canyon.

The space

Built in the late 1800s this top level apartment offers views of the state capitol as well as Temple Square. Original hardwood floors, loads of natural light. As a green designer I'd describe the style of this space as minimal modern meets salvage.

Imagine arriving on the train from the airport to City Center Station you walk a half block to Harmon’s Grocery store to pick up some groceries. You call Uber to take you, your luggage, and groceries to this retreat in the heart of the city. After a long flight, you relax down into a hot salt water bath with candles. Dry off with exotic Turkish cotton towel sheets. You close the noise reducing and light blocking curtains.
You climb into crisp, soft, organic cotton sheets and sink into the soft, but firm queen sized mattress with lumbar support. You choose between soft or firm pillows. You awake refreshed and feeling alive and ready for the day. Organic coffee and your choice of creamer is available for you. You get on your laptop at the butcher block bamboo workbench or perhaps you sit outside on the sunny balcony to sip your morning drink. Stretch out on a yoga mat or meditate in the spare bedroom. You make a healthy smoothie with my powerful Blendtec. Then you head out for the days activities: a walk to the convention or perhaps a walk up City Creek Canyon where you dip your toes into cool and refreshing City Creek. Maybe you decide to hike up Ensign Peak for a view of downtown and the entire Salt Lake Valley, Wasatch Mountains spread out before you. In the evening you walk to City Creek Center and enjoy many of the restaurants: Blue Lemon, Cheese Cake Factory, or Kneaders Bakery. On another evening, you make dinner in my kitchen. Feel free to use my spices and oils. Enjoy dinner out on the deck floating out over the city lights and view of the luminous Salt Lake City Temple.

Organic coffee with your choice of creamer are available to you. Wi-fi access.

Jennifer was a great host and the apartment looked exactly as in the photos; however, we encountered some unexpected issues that made us wish we stayed in a hotel this time. On our 2nd day, Jennifer contacted us stating that the apartment needed to be inspected during our stay, as she was moving out. I was attending a conference and my fiance was working remotely from the apartment, and it was extremely difficult and time-consuming to coordinate this unexpected visit. The next day, the temperature dropped and we turned on the heat, only to find out that it wasn't working. Now we also had to coordinate a visit from the maintenance person. Over 30 emails and some missed conference time later, the heat was fixed in time for our 5th night. Throughout all of this, Jennifer was extremely helpful and communicative, but the situation was stressful, irritating, and time-consuming, and the apartment was uncomfortably cold. Everything else was just as described in the listing, and I'm sure we otherwise would have enjoyed our stay.

Had a great stay, only 6 mins walk to Temple Square and City Creek shops. Beautiful surroundings. The host was great and always prompt to answer any questions or provide suggestions on what to do around the area. Would definitely stay again.

Staying at Jennifer's place was such a wonderful experience! Jennifer was such a thoughtful, generous host. From making hand drawn maps to help me get around town to allowing me the use of her amazing essential oils to cook with. I went grocery shopping the first day so was able to make smoothies on her BlendTec for breakfasts and took what I cooked for lunch with me to convention almost everyday. You will LOVE the space! The photos, although accurate, really do not do it justice! The bed is comfortable, the water pressure was great! Soaking in the clawfoot bath was divine. She has a wonderful veranda with access from both bedrooms. The second bedroom is ingeniously laid out/designed for meditation and contemplation. It even has a soothing fountain. I also loved her use of raw wood throughout the interior. The space just feels amazing! Her beautiful home is located about a block and a half from Temple Square. I was even able to listen in one night during the Mormon Tabernacle Choir rehearsal (with full orchestra) just by chance!! I felt very safe in the neighborhood and it's a short invigorating walk to and from the convention centers, TRAX, Harmon Foods (for groceries), and restaurants/bars/music for night life. In addition, it's a short ride to the airport, so It really is perfectly situated!

Response from Jennifer:
You're welcome Carine. As a fellow traveler, I know what it's like to try to figure out what to do with your luggage when relying on public transit.

The apartment was in a really cool old house near Temple Square. The location was fantastic! We were able to walk almost every where we wanted to go. There is a great coffee shop just up The road called Alchemy Coffee. The apartment has a great balcony. Jennifer was especially great at meeting is there and showing us all we needed to know about staying in her place.
