Large and spacious. Close to centre. Older building with lovely character. Enjoyed people watching from the balcony.

I always try to strive for honesty when it's time to write a review on airbnb, cause I think it might help other future guests make a better decision. In the case of this flat, I have to say the experience was unfortunately not great at all. My aunt, grandma and I ended up leaving the flat on the second night and rented a hotel room instead. If it hadn't been that late on the first night, we would've left already on the first night. I thought while looking at the photos that the flat would be royal and full of beautiful details and that's mostly what made me rent it, thinking it would be an outstanding experience for my grandma. Turns out that all photos are not completely false, yet not truthful. A lot of details can't be seen on the photos or don't look as bad thanks to the camera flash. Most light fixtures are hanging on the wall, many objects are covered in dust, the bathroom floor tiles are broken and are covered by many carpets and towels, one wall is not done being built and still shows the gyps sheets and the screws and many of the beautiful molds are covered in dust and black mold. To us though, what made it harder to stay there was the outstanding smell throughout the apartment. I understand this is an old building, but even though many windows were open on our arrival, there was a strong moldy/humid smell that just wouldn't go. When it comes to the host though, communication prior to check-in was not the best, but in person she was a very nice and polite person. If you don't mind all these details, go ahead and rent it since the flat has a pretty decent price, but if you're thinking you'll be renting a castle in the center of the city, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed.

Really awesome apartment in an amazing location. I came to Brussels for lambic tourism and this apartment was in the BEST location! Steps from Moeder and a short walk from Cantillon. Right outside the metro station and the apartment itself was fantastic. Super spacious for two people and I could see it easily working for up to 5 people. The front room gets a bit more light and noise than the back so if you're sensitive to that kind of thing the back room is perfect for you. The neighborhood is safe and central to everything you should see in Brussels. Some things are a bit run down but the apartment is old and it makes sense really. Anita was a really great host who accommodated me and my partner very well. I would happily stay here again! Really enjoyed my time.

Anita's place is very close to center city, yet on a less busy road so you can avoid the late night noise. The interior bedroom has an EXTREMELY comfortable king bed. We slept until noon it was so great! Very quiet in there as well. We enjoyed a beer on the balcony at night which was lovely. The apartment is palatial - the ceilings are very high and ornate! The main room with all the plants and the kitchen is very cute. He kitchen is well appointed and has an Italian coffee maker. The side room has two beds but is more of an office and has a lot of things scattered around. Not a big deal since there was a lot of other space to hang out in for the two of us. However if you are sleeping more than 2 people, there is definitely one room that is nicer than the other. Everything is quite old, as described, but it feels historic and quaint. Some parts of the apartment are obviously improvised, such as one wall in the bedroom covered by a curtain to close off an interior window. If you want a big place with balconies and a bright sunny living room and don't care about a few creative DIY aspects to an older place you will love it here. We did!

This apartment has a lot of potential. It is an easy walk to the old part of Brussels. Pros: The apartment itself has some very pretty details. Its a very nice size. It has beautiful ceilings. The doors and details have a lot of charm. Cons: The apartment isn't quite finished. There is unfinished drywall on some walls and the light fixtures are missing in places and so bulbs and sockets just hang out of the wall in some places. The hallway/stairwell leading to the apartment is pretty dirty. Communication: The hosts were attentive and responded pretty quickly to work out issues with check-in when they weren't going to be available.

In a great location just blocks from Old Town, however the street itself is less than desirable as it was a rougher neighborhood. The hosts were great in getting back to me whenever there was an issue or a question, however the WiFi only worked for 1 day and still did not work after the host said they fixed it. The old building and wall and ceiling detail was beautiful and made being in the apartment very enjoyable. Be prepared for clutter as there was alot of random items littered about the apartment on desks, mantels, tables etc. I would not stay in the apartment again however I did not regret getting it for the price I did.
