Welcome to our home! It's a 3 bedroom (2 queen beds and 1 full bed), 3.5 bath Capitol Hill row house. It has an open concept first floor with a recently renovated kitchen and a basement suite. We love and care for it well and hope you will too!

Our 100-year old home was recently renovated. Beyond a comfortable interior space, it has a great front porch with two rocking chairs, a small backyard with off-street parking and is a 1.5 block walk to the metro (orange, blue, and silver lines).

You will have access to all three floors of our home- the open-concept first floor, the second floor with 2 bedrooms (queen beds) and 2 baths, and the basement suite with an additional bedroom (full bed). The house comfortably sleeps 6 people in beds. We are excited to have you stay in our home and enjoy the nation's Capitol.

My husband and I are a call away if you need assistance during your stay.

Our neighborhood is situated on the eastern side of Capitol Hill. This neighborhood is very residential and quite diverse. We are a 1.5 block walk from the metro (orange, blue and silver lines which all run through downtown and the blue lines runs to DCA airport). We are an 8 minute walk from Lincoln Park, a 10-15 minute walk from Eastern Market and Barracks Row, and a 20 minute walk from the Capitol and National Mall. Eastern Market (URL HIDDEN) has a great open-air produce and flea market on Saturdays and Sundays (definitely worth a walk and visit with a coffee in hand). Barracks Row has become a mecca for hot new restaurants, including Rose's Luxury (URL HIDDEN) which was rated the best new restaurant in the country in 2014 by Bon Appetit. In our home, we have included a binder with our favorite neighborhood attractions as well as a "must-see" list for the city.

As previously mentioned, our home is 1.5 blocks from the Stadium Armory metro (orange, blue, and sliver lines). To give an estimate, riding the metro to the National Mall takes about 10 minutes. Our home also has off-street parking and a on-street parking pass so if you'd like to drive, parking at our home is free for up to two cars. If the weather is nice, you can also bike the city. Renting a bike through the Capital Bikeshare costs $8 a day or $17 for a three day pass. We have a pick-up and drop-off station 1.5 blocks from our home. Read more here- (URL HIDDEN)

House Rules
Check out by 12PM (noon)

1. Please care for our home as you would your own.
2. Please remove your shoes when inside the house. We take great care to preserve our hardwood floors.
3. We do a thorough professional clean between each guest's stay, but we kindly ask that prior to leaving, you clean and put away any dishes or kitchenware and put dirty linens at the bottom of the basement stairs. It helps us get through our cleaning process quicker and allows us to keep cleaning costs down for you and future guests.
4. Please respect our neighbors by keeping noise down after 10pm and before 8am. We have many young families on our block.

Firstly - Jacquie’s place was beautiful and we absolutely loved the decor! The space was exactly what we needed, in a safe and quiet area that was easy to navigate to and from. She was very pleasant to deal with, always available and quick responses, and her flexibility with the check times and the ease of the check in made all the difference. Would highly recommend her place!

I'm not sure we could have asked for a friendlier host. Had a few hiccups but Jacquie was always in touch and her biggest concern was making sure we were taking care of. Would absolutely stay here again. The house is gorgeous. Loved her style, super cozy and big! Thank you!

This home is great for families especially when it comes to the kitchen! We loved staying here. It was super clean and that was something that was a must for our family. Their house is very centrally located which made it easy to sight see. We loved our stay!

Quiet neighborhood close to the metro, both on- and off-street parking, beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated home, very clean and comfortable for a group of five. Jacquie was easy to work with and very prompt in her responses. Would definitely book again and recommend to anyone. As an aside, during our stay there was some construction in the backyard (which we were warned about after booking but prior to our arrival). Nothing major, however 4/5 of our party tripped in the same backyard hole with one suffering a pretty significant sprain ruining our weekend. Accidents happen and this was the only issue in an otherwise perfect stay!

Everything was just as I expected it to be and the ease of check-in/out made it feel like it was home for us as well. It's a great family-friendly neighborhood, safe for strolling and exploring the city. Seems far distance-wise from the monuments and museums, but my girls and I found that the walk from Jacqueline's place to the National Mall wasn't bad because there are many shops, restaurants and coffee spots to check out along the way.
