Where you’ll be

Bogotá, Colombia

Galerias is one of the most charming neighborhoods in Bogota. Galerias is a middle class neighborhood, with restaurants, bars, shopping and a party district that is one strip. It's not an entire rumba neighborhood with countless side blocks like Zona Rosa. Aside from the party strip, Galerias is known for shopping. It's named for the shopping mall, but all of Calle 53 up to Avenida Caracas is storefronts selling everything from handcrafts, clothes and bridal wear, Christmas decorations and religious art, everything. The greatest part of Galerias is that prices for food and booze are more affordable than when you go to the north of the city.

Also a couple of blocks away is El Campin Stadium.
Soccer in Colombia is not only the most popular sport, but also a fundamental part of the culture, steeped in local tradition. Every weekend adults and children, rich and poor, gather at El Campín stadium in Bogotá to support their team and keep the tradition alive. Small informal economies take advantage of the teeming masses selling souvenirs and street food. Pick up your char-grilled corn on the cob with butter, then haggle for a replica of just about any soccer jersey you want.
The stadium holds 41,000 fans and its a sporting event to experience.

Hello my name is Sandra. I am happily married to my husband Leo. We both host 3 studios together. I am an architect and mother of three brilliant designers. My husband and I spend our time traveling with our daughters, cooking, dancing salsa and enjoying the company of our dog Lucas. My biggest mantra is to spend your money on experiences not material things. At the end of the day no one can take away what you saw, ate or danced.
