Bettysbay is unique because we have no streetlights, this ensures the most beautiful starlit skies. Please be considerate to our neighbors and other possible guests in the area and try not to have outside lights on after 22.00.
Please ensure that the house is locked when leaving for the day, baboons will do anything to be able to enter a house.
Once inside they cause extensive damage.
Never feed baboons.
Never leave rubbish bags outside with food rests in it.
Bags can be disposed of 24hours a day at the local municipal buildings opposite the fuel station.
Please be always aware that the area always poses the risks of snakes and scorpions. Some poisonous others not. This includes hiking anywhere in the Kogelberg. Always wear proper shoes when hiking.
When lights are on inside the house, try to keep the outside doors closed, scorpions are night active and are drawn by the insects that are drawn by the lights.
Local emergency numbers are found on the fridge.
