Private corner room in 3 bedroom house w laundry & no added fees! Great location in Palolo Valley near bus, beach, Waikiki, waterfalls, hikes, food, shops & 20 minutes from airport! Host Lauren manages many listings ensuring great AirBnB experience!

The space

Discover Oahu from the heart of one of the best locations on island. The setting is just fantastic in this special piece of property with lush views of the mountains and tropical fruit trees. There are three houses on the property and this listing is in the front shared home. This is a private residence for travelers long and short term. It's on the same property is the popular Aloha Bunkhouse, a hostel-style travelers housing. There's plenty of free street parking and laundry on-site as well.

There is a full kitchen with fridge, microwave, toaster oven, stove and cooking utensils. There is a shared bathroom with full shower tub. The common areas get cleaned regularly with all your clean linens provided. And we never add-on hidden fees like cleaning, second guest, etc. :-) Your host Lauren manages multiple other listings so book confidently knowing you’ll receive a great guest experience.

This listing is for a private room with a full size comfortable bed, dresser, nightstand and closet.

Guest access

Guests have access to the common areas in the front house including the kitchen, dining area, living room and shared bathroom. You also have access to the Aloha Bunkhouse next door including the game room and laundry facilities. You're welcome to use the on-site laundry facilities and have soap for $2. You also are welcome to hang out in the private back yard and there's a seating area and BBQ as well.

Interaction with guests

This is your host Lauren’s former house when she first moved to Oahu (now she lives in Kauai). Lauren makes sure things runs smoothly remotely and loves to say hi when she's on Oahu. The owner Jeremy lives on-site in the back bungalow and also rents it out while he’s traveling. Magnum, Jeremy’s friendly Rottweiler, is the official greeter and a favorite among our guests - read the happy reviews. We rent the other rooms on the property so there’s guests coming and going. We both love to meet our guests - hearing about your adventures and offer advice for exploring Oahu. We all do our own thing and with everyone's various schedules, hopefully we’ll cross paths.

Other things to note

We have a DIY check-in/out to accommodate everyone’s varying schedules. The common areas are cleaned daily but it is an older house in country Oahu! We keep it clean though there's frequent visitors around like geckos, ants, bugs and the occasional mouse. Ants and cockroaches do come if guests leave food out and the geckos help with the pest control! :) It is cleaned, wiped down and swept regularly, but it's not "hotel standards" by any means and we price it accordingly. It's a great place for affordable accommodations. If you need anything, please contact Lauren.

There is a very friendly Rottweiler named Magnum so please be aware for any allergy issues as he sheds a lot in the living room. It does rain nearly everyday so he tracks mud in and the floors can reflect this. We're a pet friendly house and you're welcome to bring dogs only along if they get along with Magnum for an extra $10 a day or monthly rate.

Lauren manages other properties on Kauai and in Honolulu in Oahu. Check out her other listings if you're island hopping! :-)

The hosts were nice and helpful. You need a car to get to anywhere. The room we stayed was a private front room, which was the hosts' house and didn't have much space in the living room or kitchen. There are three dogs and stray cats so a non-pet owner should prepare for animal smell and messiness. Noisy at night but cool without AC. We paid $50 a night, which I think was overpriced.

Really cute neighborhood, fun little community-living style home setting. If you're looking to feel like part of the family, this is the perfect place for you. This is obviously not some 5 star hotel in downtown, but the people were very friendly, there was little to no outside noise, nice breeze at night, and I felt very comfortable. Perfect for travelers or people just trying to get away from the city. Great deal for the price. Definitely would book again.

Just for easy going people who do not mind noice (TV on through the whole night and argues behind thin wall), dirty carpets, matracess and just 2 cups available for all and any pot for cooking. The location Is good but you have to rent a car. Not reccommended for this money if we compare our further rentals in Hawaii.

Quiet good space shared with nice people, could be improved if they changed the matress and the pillows... the bath tub could be cleaned more frequently.

Nice place and I liked the people there. They gave my boyfriend and I a good suggestion for dinner. The dog is very friendly and cute.

An adequate crash pad for the under-30 crowd living sparingly.

Aloha! I moved to Hawaii sight-unseen from Los Angeles to start 2015 because I wanted to be happy - and it worked! I was inspired by "The 4 Hour Work Week" and am creating a life of liberty. I sold my first company in Nov. 2014 (bringing animals to kid's birthday parties all…
