We are open until the cold weather. Nestled in the fall coloured trees minutes from the beautiful, ever changing Bay of Fundy towards Advocate Harbour. Down a private Lane between crimson blueberry fields, a quaint 2 bedroom welcomes you to unwind while rejuvenating your body and mind with beach strolls, bonfires, hiking, or just lay back and count a sky full of stars. The screened tent is down now, but a variety of chairs are there for you to enjoy a quiet break! We are waiting for you!
We have made lots of upgrades this spring- new carpet, drapes, paint, double bed, etc! There is a Hide-abed in the living room that you are welcome to use if you need space for 6 people (IF it is 6 ADULTS, there will be an extra fee, families with young or teenage children are not charged). There is extra bedding over the washer and blankets in the armoire. If I know you will be using ahead, they will be ready for your use. There are heavy curtains between the two bedrooms for privacy, the bathroom has a door. This has only worried one couple, but heads up if you need a locked bedroom!
All towels and bedding are supplied, including beach towels! We stock the fridge with mustard, ketchup & some other condiments. There are small amounts of flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, soda, oil available. Coffee & tea bags too until you can get to the store -if you forgot yours! If you forget anything- if we have it, you can borrow!
There is a Keurig as well, but we do not provide the pods. There is a couple of refillable pods to use with ground coffee. A toaster, coffee machine, kettle, electric can opener, microwave and a Nikken water filter for your use along with just about every pot, pan or dish you may need. We try to be sure cold water is ready in the fridge as well.
Guests will stop at the yellow house beside the church before heading down the private lane to the cottage unless we have made other arrangements.
There are games, movies and books and lots of area for you to walk in to stretch out those traveling aches. We love to hear what excites you about your travels or homes too. We ask that you check the drawers and cupboards under the TV - we have a variety of games there!
Interaction with guests
We were new to Airbnb last year, but we have been doing this since 2007. We are available to help with any questions or concerns! Forgot or need something- if we have it we will lend it to you! Or try to find it locally.
Our cell numbers are also listed, just in case! We are busy and do a lot of Community Volunteering, so those numbers come in handy. We enjoy getting to know you, as you will see by our many guests notes in our memory books! You are welcome to join our Families in games, bonfires, etc if you wish - or do things on your own. Darrell loves to share stories and show/tell you about lots of local things (blueberry machines, fossils, etc) and he has a stop sign that he enjoys putting in crazy spots around the property to make you smile! We try to treat everyone as if you are a part of our Family.
Other things to note
We suggest you bring OLD footwear to use on the beaches, as they can be muddy and the salt water is not kind to good footwear! You need to be aware of the tides in our area- we don't want any one getting caught unawares - so ask questions and pay attention to where you and the tides are!
We have several indoor and outdoor games that you are welcome to borrow. You are welcome to join us for bonfires, washer toss games, etc.
If you smoke, we ask you do it outside. The screened tent is okay to use and, if you let us know, we will have a bucket with sand ready for your butts.
So, if you've packed your stress - unpack it! We can't wait to meet you and show you 'good old Nova Scotia hospitality'. Come, give us a try.
Our cottage is child and pet friendly place. We ask that people treat our property and beach with respect and leave it in good condition when leaving. We are proud recyclers in our area and will explain how to do this. Garbage is to be either kept inside or in shed if we are not around to pick it up. The BBQ must be burned off and covered after each use and food is not be left outside because we are a rural setting and do not want to attract animals.
Non-refundable one night payment, minimum 2 nights stay. For weekly or monthly stays, non-refundable deposit of half cost on booking.
We block one week off each year for a family who have sick children and need a break away to recoup, heal and make new memories at no charge to them! You help make this happen by staying with us. You are also welcome to let us know of any special family for our consideration for the following or future years.
Thank you for coming to visit!
