This is a big victorian house a 7 minute walk from downtown Northampton and 2 blocks from the Smith College campus. It has several bedrooms, two bathrooms upstairs and one down, a large screened in porch, and lots of windows in spacious rooms.
This is a large victorian house with a fenced in yard on a tree-lined residential side street. There are 3 spare bedrooms on the second floor and various sofas on the ground floor. Rooms are spacious with big windows, and the screened back porch has plenty of room for lounging or eating. There are plenty of comfortable chairs and places to hang out. The fee to rent the whole house, including porches, kitchen, etc, is $250/night. I have a separate listing for renting one room with adjoining bathroom and sitting room ($90/night).
There are two full bathrooms on the second floor and a half bathroom on the ground floor. There's a well equipped large kitchen/dining room if you rent the whole house adjacent to a very big screened in back porch. The rooms are spacious with large windows, and it's full of comfortable places to sit. There's free wireless and cable tv. People tend to feel at home in my house.
Northampton is a small town in an agricultural valley, so it's surrounded by fields and hills along the Connecticut river (lots of hiking options), but is also a hub of entertainment and cultural possibilities, since there are 5 colleges/universities within 12 miles. (two minute walk from the house to the Smith college campus). There's a wide variety of restaurants, and great live music. It's a quiet pretty place to visit, and an hour from the Berkshires (Tanglewood, and Jacob's Pillow), an hour from southern vermont (lakes and hiking), and two hours from Boston.
Interaction with guests
I'm glad to offer information and guidance
Other things to note
There is an apartment in downstairs from the house, and I ask guests to be mindful of this in terms of noise.
I own a dog. If you rent the whole house she will be elsewhere, but since she does live here I mention it in terms of allergies.
there is a small apartment downstairs from this house, so some limits to noise especially at night.
