Our group had a lovely stay at Hollyhock House and would like to thank Heidi for being a terrific host who made it very easy for us to get the most from our visit. The house and facilities were excellent, as was the local pub/restaurant - both highly recommended.

Wow....what else can we say about Heidi and her beautiful house! I booked the house for three nights for our wedding prep, it was the perfect place to get ready in, providing so much space for myself and my party to get ready in! Heidi couldn't have been a nicer host, she was so accommodating, making the whole stay entirely stress-free! The house is a beautiful space with a gorgeous garden and fairy hut for BBQs! We'd highly recommend for a family or group staying in Oxfordshire, thanks again Heidi!

About the house:
Hollyhock House has been in the Laughton family for 5 generations. In 2014 we started what turned out to be a major two year renovation project. What started with just a lick of paint turned into a major overhaul of the whole property. We converted the barn and stable into a plush dwelling space, and totally re-vamped the older part of the house. I've tried to make it as cozy and relaxing as possible. All beds have oversize duvets, meaning a double wears a kings size, or a king size wears a super king. (I hate it when the duvets are too small for the bed). I've personally made all of the curtains and blinds throughout the property as I wanted them bespoke and to add to the luxurious feel to the property.
About me:
I run the business, and have pervious experience from doing holiday lets with another property. I am a keen equestrian owner and love being outdoors. I am married to Andy and have two boys Ollie and Ferdy, who are 14 and 6. The 14 year old is a 'mad' motor cross rider.
We are in a position should you want to bring your motocross bike to try Ashdown or Enysham tracks we can store it securely. Equally if you want to bring your horse on holiday too we can offer you a stable. Dogs are welcome, but must be house trained and well behaved. (All animals must have prior agreements and arrangements).

I can't live without... seeing the sun daily, touching grass, star gazing as there are no street lights we have the most amazing views of the night sky. All/any tunes to bop to in the kitchen, a glass of wine, horses, my kids, peace and quiet! Favourite place to travel - anywhere in the warm.

I am hoping for... to host families/people who want a taste of the countryside. Step out of your work suit, or high heels, don your wellies and a warm coat, and pootle about the woods and lanes, visit the village pub for a pint and come back to a warm house with a roast dinner waiting for you in the Aga.

My moto: I have a moto regarding my children. I never worry about how untidy they come home, it just means the more grubbier they are the better the day they've had.

Hollyhock House is the perfect place to come and relax and unwind. Its cozy and has all of the mod cons of home. Close enough to shop at Bicester Village, tour Blenheim Palace, visit Oxford, Cheltenham, the cotswolds. Come home and snuggle up and let the day melt away in the Arctic Cabin - BBQ hut.
