Totkam was very sweet. She communicated effectively with me prior to arrival so that we could check in at a convenient time. During check in, she gave us a tour of her apartment and the keys and we discussed the check out process. She also told me that I was her second renter ever. So, I will be very specific with constructive criticism, so that her future renters have a better experience. From my personal experience of renting out my luxury home in Scottsdale, my best advise is to HIRE A PROFESSIONAL CLEANING SERVICE BETWEEN EACH RENTER. Believe me! They see dirt and clutter from the same perspective as your renter will.
It was a cute apartment. I did not mind that a few of her personal items were left there because there was plenty of room in the closet and drawers.
What I did mind was the uncleanliness. The kitchen was the worst. Not just the clutter, but the filth. The stove and microwave had food stuck on the surface. There were crumbs on stickiness on the counters, fridge handles, and floor. I did not mind that the dishwasher did not work, but whoever "cleaned" before we arrived did not even bother to put the plates and utensils in the cupboard. That said, we ate out every meal and walked to get coffee each morning because the kitchen was not useable.
The cleanliness of the bathtub and shower were also questionable. There was used soap in the guest powderroom bathtub. (I do not care to bathe with used bar soap). In the main bathroom, the mirror above the sink had toothpaste splatters on it. (I really think that only the main surfaces had been spritzed and the vacuum had been run prior to our arrival). The white carpets were grey and needed a carpet cleaning service. And the outside patio had a broom left out admidst the piles of dirt that had apparently been swept but not put into a dust pan and discarded. Also, the patio chairs were dry-rotted and had fabric that was split and therefore could not be used.
