Double bedroom with queen bed and 4 singles - close to the action and next to the gin tank.

The space

The hatchery was a prawn breeding facility on a lagoon overlooking a deserted beach and nature reserve. It makes for a unique destination for any visitor to the North Coast. The facility has been "lightly" renovated - the end result is a unique blend of comfort and rustic cool. The hatchery is all about chilling out, letting loose, and reconnecting.

Other things to note

We are self catering; bringing your own supplies in is recommended. Low slung cars can scrape on the road in so leave the beemer at home for this one or take your time on the way in.

What a charming and secluded place near the beach. When we arrived I was utterly underwhelmed, but the great staff took it in stride and changed our rooms for us. In the morning when we saw the place properly we were charmed. We are not backpackers, so communal anything is a challenge, but everyone was so wonderful including the other guests that we felt like we are in a survivor-like island- just with ALL the amenities including a fabulous silver Coffee plunger. The water pressure could do with a boost, but if you are looking to just veg out- then this is your place. DONT do what I did which is look at Penny's Cottage and assume it all looks like that
