A 9-year-old guest wrote in her diary that BelleVue BNB is 'natural Australia with a bit of magic'. Her parents, and many other guests, recommend guests stay a minimum of 2 nights to soak in the surrounds and luxuriate in our private space, however 1-night bookings are welcome.
The BelleVue BnB studio room includes a comfortable queen bed, single bed / day bed to snuggle into, two rollable armchairs, small dining table, TV and DVD player with a large collection of movies, magazines and books. There is a digital alarm clock / mp3 player with iphone 5/6 charger and AUX connector cord for other devices.
There is a walk-in-robe that can be closed off with plenty of hanging space and room to set up a baby's porta-cot or an additional roll-out bed (alternatively the 3rd bed could be setup in the main bedroom/living space if you prefer).
Extra Guests incur additional charges:
$30 per bed/person after first 2 guests (inc. bedding and towel) or $15 extra for twin bed set-up (to cover the extra workload and laundry associated with using a second bed). Cot hire is a one-off fee of $15 with bedding. Small children will be charged an additional $15 per night regardless of whether bedding is used. Please advise your requirements upon booking.
The basic kitchenette includes a bar fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and complimentary tea, coffee and long-life milk. Wine glasses, mugs, cups, crockery and cutlery are all included. There is also a small selection of beer, wine and snacks available for purchase should you get peckish or thirsty!
Breakfast is available if pre-ordered at an additional charge. OPTION 1: Breakfast Hamper with homemade muesli, fruit, croissant OR fruit toast (dependant on availability), milk & juice ($15/person).
OPTION 2: Crepes & Coffee (2 person minimum) with lemon, sugar & maple syrup ($20/person or $15 for 3+ guests).
Your newly renovated ensuite has toilet, walk-in shower (possibly the best you'll ever have!) and a large vanity with mirror and ample storage. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hair dryer is provided.
Via a path around the side of the room, there is a SHARED LAUNDRY space with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board, indoor hanging rack as well as a large outdoor clothesline. Use of washing detergents and laundry facilities is complimentary.
The rest of the family home has a separate entry but is connected to the guest room via a deadlocked interior door so that guests, and our young family, can both enjoy the privacy this large home affords.
This home is located on a 5-acre block, down a private driveway, and remains hidden from public view. The house and guest wing overlook a tranquil lake ("Belfast Lough" - where Moyne River meets the ocean).
You have access to the GARDEN and lawn area outside your room. We've set up a private outdoor table and chairs for you, as well as deck chairs and a small BBQ with utensils. You're also welcome to use our communal 6-meter redgum outdoor table. And there's a trampoline, cubby and play equipment for the kids.
You are a 4km (5-minute drive) from the centre of town, or you can ride bikes directly from the house to town on a beautiful, sealed bike path called the 'Rail Trail' which extends from Warrnambool to Port Fairy (via Koroit). Bikes are available upon request. There are many places to picnic around Port Fairy. We've included a backpack with picnic supplies and blanket should you wish to "explore".
Also available (at no extra charge):
Children's Toys and Books;
Baby Change Mat;
Other wet weather gear.
PLEASE NOTE, this bed and breakfast is an ideal couples retreat. Three or four guests are welcome to stay, however the room is best suited to comfortably accommodate two or three guests in the one living space.
Please ask if you have any special requests or requirements for your stay.
There is a separate, private guest entry via path around side of the house from the driveway.
Guests have their own gravel car parking space (up to 2 vehicles) to the right of the garage. From there, you walk down the redgum-laid path, past the garage on your left, shared laundry entry, the outdoor clothesline and onto your private deck, overlooking garden, the majestic Belfast Lough (lake) and Port Fairy's East Beach dunes... then inside, into your toasty warm bed (thank you electric blankets!!), to enjoy the view and serenity!
Interaction with guests
We enjoy meeting new people, but do have young children so ask guests to please remain in the guest area so both of us can enjoy the privacy this large house affords. I'm always accessible by phone if you need assistance during your stay, or feel free to knock on one of the doors should you need me...
Other things to note
I've had amazing feedback from visitors to date, the majority saying they wish they'd broken up their journey and stayed longer to rest, make the most of the rural "escape" and all that gorgeous Port Fairy (and surrounds) has to offer... worth considering an extra night if you can afford the time!
We have a super friendly large black labrador. "Wendell" does have a tendency to bark loudly at unknown vehicles upon arrival. Don't be alarmed, he's harmless, and loves cuddles from anyone willing to give them! Please advise if you'd prefer him chained or locked up upon arrival.
Feel free to give "Posie" a pat or an apple over the fence. She is very friendly however guests are responsible for their own safety and horses can be unpredictable so please keep this in mind before approaching. I'm happy to introduce you to her initially, just let me know and we can work out a time.
Gumboots, umbrellas and jackets available in all shapes and sizes so just ask if you need something.
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT:
2pm check-in: earlier check-in may be available upon individual request.
11am check-out: late check-out (2pm) available upon individual request if no guests are booked in on departure day.
I ask that you please STRIP THE BEDS upon departure to avoid undue laundering - used bedding and towels can be left on the bathroom floor. Thank you.
We are a young family and this is our home. We asks guests to remain in the guest area during their stay so we can both enjoy the privacy that this large home affords.
Children are more than welcome to use the play equipment when we're not at home for the same reason. Parents it goes without saying the safety of your kids is your responsibility so keep an eye on them as this is a rural property.
We'd appreciate if noise can be kept low after 10pm.
You're welcome to use our laundry if need be. If our clothes are in the machines, just leave them in the basket for us and we'll do the same for you. Ironing board and clothes rack are stored in laundry (if not already in your room).
Please strip linen in need of washing UPON DEPARTURE and turn off lights, heaters and electric blankets.
