Upstairs spare room available in a colourful Thorndon cottage in the oldest suburb of Wellington. Close to railway station, stadium, supermarket, Parliament & the National Library as well as the Botanic Gardens and Tinakori Village's cafes & antique shops.
This cottage was built in 1905, but has been modernised since then. The spare room has a queen sized bed made up with 100% cotton linens, closet and drawer space and towels. The spare bedroom is the top level of the house, up a flight of stairs and separate from the rest of the house, but it does not have a door.
The rest of the house has a dining space, lounge with big comfy couches and kitchen with a dishwasher. The bathroom has a shower over the bath. There is a washing machine in the kitchen, and as well as an outside clothing line, there is a drying rack in your room. There is wifi throughout the house and garden (fibre connection).
Make yourself at home. Feel free to read my books, relax in the garden, watch TV - whatever you're into.
Tea & coffee is available, and you're welcome to cook for yourself in the kitchen.
Interaction with guests
I work full time & have a social life but I love helping people make the most of their time in Wellington. I will always be available via text for any questions if you need to check in during the day when I'm at work though. In my spare time I edit a blog all about the city, so I'm pretty good at knowing what's happening. I love a drink at the end of the day and am pretty outgoing, but if you're just looking for a roof over your head and to be left alone, that's fine too.
Other things to note
I have two cats who like attention - Sebastian and Florence. This listing would not be good for someone who has cat allergies.
While access to the property is on the flat, the bedroom is up a moderately steep staircase.
No smoking inside, and please be considerate of me and the neighbours and keep noise down after 11pm. Please also be nice to the cats.
Earlier check-ins than 10am may be available, just ask!
I love Wellington and helping people to find things to love in it as well. I live in such a cute house so it makes sense for me to share it. Having guests makes me very happy. My father and Opa were both diplomats and so my mother & Oma both worked very hard at being the perfect hostess. I hope that has rubbed off on me!
