We love the South Cotswolds and are very fortunate to live here. There are so many attractive and fine walks to enjoy . Lyncroft , which people always seem to call 'beautiful' or 'lovely' is ideally placed to enable you to make the best of the area.
Lyncroft is an exceptional Cotswold cottage situated by the small village green in peaceful Old Bussage. A nearby lane leads down to the Toadsmoor Valley, which is one of the unknown gems of the county. Everyone who comes here seems to love the house. We live in an area which is superb to look at, is excellent for walking and is geographically central.
Very close to us is a park, which is good for kids, who can also enjoy the playroom in the house. Other downstairs accommodation comprises a hall, sitting room, dining room, kitchen, shower/ toilet and utility. Upstairs are a bathroom and three bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have double beds, The third bedroom has a truckle bed (i.e one single bed fits under the other when not in use) The size of the latter room is fine for either two kids or an adult and a child, but is a bit of a squeeze for two adults. WiFi is available.
Outside, at the rear, is a large garden, which is mainly private. Around the lawn are deep borders that are well stocked with perennials; a pond, pergola, vegetable garden and boules track fill up the rest of the garden space - you are welcome to enjoy a game of boules as well as dine alfresco.
There is plenty of road parking - there is very little traffic - by the house. Nearby Eastcombe has a village shop and post office while the newer part of Bussage has a Tesco Express. Many shops and further supermarkets are to be found in Stroud,, Nailsworth and Cirencester. A national prizewinning farmers'market is held each Saturday in Stroud.
There are good pubs which serve food in Bussage, Eastcombe, France Lynch and Oakridge Lynch. Our favourite is 'The Butchers Arms ' at Oakridge Lynch which is quite simply a smashing place to be. Good restaurants are plentiful, particularly in Nailsworth, while coffee houses well worth a visit can be found in Chalford Vale, Stroud and Minchinhampton.
The beautiful local countryside provides walks of varying difficulty, many of which are circular via such places as Slad, Sheepscombe, the Stroudwater Canal and France Lynch. Cotswold gems, such as Castle Combe, the Slaughters, Great Tew and Chipping Campden do not take long to drive to as is the case with Cheltenham, Bath, Bristol, Oxford and Stratford upon Avon.
One final tip - try to fit in a visit to Giffords Circus, which spends the summer touring the Cotswolds. It is a glorious must !
The fourth bedroom and the garage are inaccessible to guests. Nobody else will stay in the property at the same time as you.
