'The Bluebird' is a classic Safari Cosalt Caravan pitched in a pretty orchard in the Marshwood Vale, just two miles from the dramatic Jurassic Coast. A romantic hideaway, furnished with vintage charm, sharing the facilities of a small glampsite.

The space

The Bluebird is a beautiful retro caravan, situated on a private orchard pitch, a few steps away from the 'glamping barn' facilities at Old Bidlake Farm. Just 12 foot long the caravan provides a perfect cosy escape for a couple wanting to connect with the outdoors but still enjoy a little pampered comfort. The stylish linen covered seating converts to a luxurious, memory foam double bed, with goose feathered duvet and pillows and 100% linen bedding. The original drinks cabinet hides away a local tipple, a kettle and aeropress coffee-maker are also provided, along with all the cutlery and crockery you will need for your camping trip. The Bluebird has an electricity supply for light and heating and to power it's mini fridge. Outside there is a hammock made for two and a private arbour covered seat, ideal for 'al fresco' meals or just to sit and watch the stunning sunsets.

Just moments from your caravan you will find our charming 'upcycled' glamping barn. The kitchen houses an oven, hotplates, microwave, fridge freezer, a large covered eating area and a good selection of pots, pans and utensils. There is also a stove top smoker and woodfired pizza oven for you to use. There is always plenty of hot water for washing up. Next door to the kitchen are two private washrooms with flushing toilets and electric showers. A secret door from the kitchen leads you into a large, tranquil studio room, with leather sofas, dining table and chairs, plenty of books and local guides.

Guest access

Old Bidlake Farm is an 8 1/2 acre smallholding, situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty called the Marshwood Vale. Away from main roads and streetlights it is a peaceful magical place, with idyllic pastoral views slowly progressing to colourful sunsets then clear starry skies. You will share the communal facilities of the barn with our other camping guests, but as a small site there are never more than twenty five people staying and out of high season you will often find you have the facilities all to yourselves.

Lovely place to go just out the way of the busy town, not far from everything. But quiet and lovely, last minute trip for us and it just made it perfect!

A pretty, well-equipped & tranquil site just a couple of miles form the beauties of the Jurassic coast. We enjoyed the stay at the Bluebird, which is of course tiny, but very clean and comfortable, and set within beautiful a beautiful wider site. We didn't have a chance to use the provided wood-fired oven or bbq, as the local seafood tempted us away, but if we'd been there a couple of days longer we certainly would have taken advantage. The walking is exquisite, and the proximity to a number of famous sites makes this an idea spot to base yourself for exploring this section of the Dorset coast. Highly recommended.

My friend and I traveled to stay at Bidlake farm on our Motorbikes after visiting Lulworth cove and Durdle door. This was a perfect overnight stay and safe storage for the bikes in your garage, thank you! The caravan was homely, and the 2 single bed set up was very comfortable with the memory foam mattresses. In the evening we enjoyed a few beers on the bench with a take away from Bridport town centre which was only a few minutes ride away, and had plenty of choice. The communal kitchen and showers were perfect for what we needed, with tea coffee and thank you for the eggs which we had for breakfast :) The following day we travelled to Weymouth which was about a 45 minute ride along a gorgeous coastal road with fantastic views. Thanks again for helping to make our weekend great, if we are travelling along the south coast again we will certainly consider staying again!

I would highly recommend the Bluebird caravan to anyone wishing for a relaxing and comfortable stay in the Dorset countryside. Bidlake farm is a truly wonderful place to enjoy the beautiful Dorset countryside. It's a very short distance away from a great farm shop providing a huge range of delicious locally produced goods and the nearest town, Bridport, was brimming with independent cafes and shops. We had to travel into Weymouth often during our trip and we found it very easy to do so, only taking 40 minutes at most. It felt like Sue and Nick did everything they could to make us feel at home. The caravan itself is super cosy and comfy (the bed, wow!) and the communal outdoor kitchen/shower area superb. We were greeted by freshly picked tomatoes, eggs and a selection of local treats which were really tasty. We're used to roughing it outdoors so we felt very pampered. The caravan is in a private orchard with the camping field adjacent, which equally would have been great to stay in. Thank you so much for a great experience Sue and Nick.

Beautiful....magical....restorative!! I don't want to say how perfect Old Bidlake Farm is as I want to keep it all to myself. Sue and Nick are great, they make you feel like you've known them for years. It was truly perfect and every tiny detail thought of.

Bidlake is a lovely site located in a wonderful part of the country. The Bluebird is as cute and cosy as it looks on the site. Sue & Nick are caring and attentive hosts, answered all of our questions and gave us useful tips on where to go and what to do. I'd highly recommend a stay here. We'll definitely be back!
