Beautifully restored townhouse in the Albayzín, the historic quarter of Granada. The house sleeps six (in two bedrooms and using sofa beds). Ideal for self-catering holidays - enjoy the superb views of the Alhambra from terrace.

The space

Lovingly refurbished, this small 3-story home is comfortably furnished and fully equipped to offer a good standard of accommodation. The house was restored by a local architect and makes a playful use of traditional and modern styles to create a light and attractive environment. The house gives ample space for couples and families alike.

Guest access

During your stay you will have the use of the entire property. (We do store cleaning products and materials for maintenance and repair in the cupboard in the entry hall but most likely will not need to access to this but otherwise everything is available for your use).

Interaction with guests

We live in the UK so you will be in the capable hands of our agent in Granada who will open the house for you and take care of any other concerns you may have during your stay.

Other things to note

Gaudix, famed for its concentration of cave houses, is about half an hour from Granada. Nearby towns relating to the life of poet Federico Lorca are also are not more than 15 or 20 minutes away. A day trip also is easily possible to not only the coast (about an hour) but also to enjoy the dramatic scenery of the mountainous Alpujarras.

Lovely, lovely place in Albaizin with nice surroundings. Close to everything (both flamenco bars, shopping and great breakfast places) The house is charming with a great view Cannot recommend this place enough!

The house is lovely, with plenty of space, a central location, and a lovely sundeck. The only issue was that wifi was down, and you could only connect from the bottom floor, by the window (to the router in the house next door) so it's not ideal if you need to get work done-plenty of teterias around with wifi though. It was a bit difficult getting in touch with the housekeeper who let us in, but Maurice always responded promptly.

Maurice and Nadia communicated very promptly. The house is located in the old town with an amazing balcony view of Alhambra. it was clean and well presented. Small problems are front door hard to open and toilet flushing system not great.

The house in Granada exceeded our expectations, both in quality and location. The views around, especially of the Alhambra were unbeatable. We were centrally located for the city and getting around was very easy. Nearby bars and restaurants are plentiful.

The house was great, we had an amazing time! The terrace has a beautiful view of the alhambra! Nadia was great and super helpful! The only thing that could be improved is the wifi that did not reach the entire house and was not very good. Nonetheless we totally recommend the house!

Maurice's house in Granada was exactly as pictured and described. The small balcony off the living area faced the morning sun, which was a lovely spot to drink your morning coffee. While we didn't meet Maurice in person, he was very responsive and friendly over email to organise our stay. Nadia, the property caretaker who let us in, was also warm and friendly and responsive to our communication. Although she doesn't speak much English (and we have even less Spanish), we were able to communicate with her quite well! It seems the WiFi is actually the neighbours (Nadia's son) as it is only available when very close to the East side of the house and does drop out frequently. Also, as other people have mentioned, the square just above and opposite the house (which has a beautiful view of the Alhambra) can be noisy throughout the night as people congregate there to socialise. We were only 2 people so we were able to move to the bedroom at the back of the house, which was much quieter. The beds are super comfy, although quite small, which luckily wasn't an issue for us. There are also loads of books too in multiple languages for some good reading! Thanks for a lovely stay Maurice.

The home is indeed cute and quirky, as advertised! The location is fabulous. You do get an amazing view of the Alhambra, and you are minutes away from downtown Granada. The best feature is that you're in the heart of the old town where no cars can possibly go! The home is fully functional (especially the kitchen) and comfortable (I slept like a rock). I was there on the coldest day of the year (40º high during the day, and it even snowed), so the bathroom was on the chilly side (the living room and bedroom were warm). Wi-fi reception is terrible, but eh, you don't go to Granada to be glued to your laptop, right? Nadia (the caretaker) helped me tremendously with everything (including finding me a jacket since I was thoroughly unprepared for the unusually cold weather). I had a fabulous experience in Maurice's apartment.

Perhaps I can best describe myself by explaining how a globetrotting New Zealander ended up with houses smack in the middle of Andalusia and France. Like most kiwis (our way of saying NZer) I got bitten by a wanderbug very early on. By the age of seventeen, I had already b…
