If you are looking for a homogenous hotel-like experience, then this place definitely isn't for you. If you want to truly experience San Francisco in a beautiful, one of a kind convenient sanctuary, you will love this flat. A quiet, artsy, woodsy, eclectic haven in the heart of the city + FREE fresh local organic veggies delivered to your door(if you're interested) every Saturday afternoon(my friend owns a farm) Come home to a warm inviting space, read a book or meditate, play a ukulele, or listen to some vinyl, or you can always walk just one block over, to one of the most beautiful and iconic parks in San Francisco. It's located in the most convenient neighborhood in the city, the Lower Haight, where you can find restaurants, shops, cafes, parks, and public transportation (the subway is three blocks away). Jacob's Library is a perfect home base for a vibrant San Francisco neighborhood, and Jabob is a generous and welcoming host. I recommend staying here anytime you are in SF!

Jacob was easy to communicate with from before we arrived to the end of our stay. We knew from the reviews that his apartment was eccentric, but it was all so positive, so we wanted to give it a try! The location really couldn't be beat (for us). We loved being in walking distance of bars, restaurants and other fun neighbourhoods. It's not close to downtown but that wasn't where we wanted to spend our time anyway. He made suggestions throughout our stay for places to eat and check out. The apartment is small, I think that's pretty common for San Fran. Though there is a little table in the kitchen, we spent most of our time in the living/bedroom space and would've preferred another more comfortable place to sit before a night out. We enjoyed going through Jacob's records and had music on every time we were in the apartment. I could see the quirkiness not being for everyone. There are books, art, records and knick knacks covering most surfaces in the apartment, but that's part of the charm. He does clean out closet space and shelving for your things. I would recommend ear plugs, as a sensitive sleeper the traffic out the window was bothersome (but I bring ear plugs everywhere). Great location, great host, safe area (and he left snacks:D).

Jacob's place was wonderful! My husband and I were here for work and we found it to be very comfortable and accessible to all we wanted to do in the city. Jacob has a fun and eclectic style of decorating that makes his place interesting and so much cooler than staying at a standard hotel. I got some ideas for furnishing my own home after staying in his! He was a reliable and quick communicator and overall made our trip very successful!

Jacob is an amazing host, and the apartment was a great unique little place to stay. It is in a pretty quiet neighborhood, and it is central to many of the great neighborhoods of San Francisco. We were able to walk to some good restaurants and bars. The apartment is filled with excellent records, plants, and many unique knick knacks. It definitely gives the place a relaxing feel. Jacob invited us over to the Ferry building farmer's market on Saturday, and it was fantastic!

Jacob was great, very welcoming and informative. I didn't end up having to write him for recommendations or anything, but if I had had any questions, I would have felt totally comfortable contacting him.

You know how sometimes you start your trip full of doubts and fears about the place you're going to stay? Well, with Jacob's place you have absolutely nothing to fear. 'The Library' was exactly as pictured: a cozy and very nice apartment filled with books and music and art that makes you feel exactly like home-away-from-home. Jacob was super nice and constantly checking up on us to see if we needed anything. He received us with organic snacks and the greatest coffee I've tasted in a while. The neighborhood is super quiet and safe, half a block away from a muni bus station and really close to various shops and restaurants. It was my first time in San Francisco and I had a wonderful time. I would definitely return to Jacob's place and totally recommend it!

Jacob User ProfileJacob is a superhost.

I'm a graphic designer and musician and have lived in this great city for over a decade. My friends tell me I'm the best SF tour guide – I love showing people my favorite off-the-beaten-path places to eat, grab a drink, or take in some nature. I love my home – it is an eclectic and quiet haven in the heart of the city and I have a pretty impressive collection of books and vinyl which I welcome my guests to enjoy during their stay.
