We enjoyed our stay at Polly's apartment. It has plenty of room for a party of 4, so very spacious for the 2 of us. The bed was comfy and water pressure was great. It was also nice to have a washer/dryer on site. It is definitely an income property (rather than someone's home) and therefore has just the basic essentials (coffee, creamer, salt/pepper). If you plan to do any cooking, you'll need to shop for most things. The only real drawback was the noise. It's very close to the crosstown and you can hear quite a bit of road noise in the house. There's really nothing to be done, as that's just how it is with historic homes! The area has a good bit of construction happening as well, which started pretty early. The location is good though, with easy walking to Upper King. Overall, a good place to stay.

Polly’s apartment is a spacious upper level apartment in the Mid-town area. It’s about a half-mile to great spots on King and other places in the surrounding area. The area is undergoing a revival or sorts with a lot of homes nearby under renovation. This noise and the apartment’s proximity to a busy street can detract from your stay. We did have difficulty with the apartment’s AC regulating the temperature as we set it. Polly was a gracious host and allowed us to continue our stay elsewhere in the city so we could relax and enjoy some down time. She seemed flexible to the needs of her guests and wanted us to be able to fully enjoy our time in Charleston.

This place had a wonderful southern charm about it and was close to lots of entertainment. We rented bikes and cruised around all over downtown Charleston and over to Mount Pleasant. Polly gave us a ton of recommendations for coffee shops/restaurants/beaches and bike rentals. Short uber rides to everything in Charleston!

I'm sorry about the workers. They are not supposed to arrive early. I talked to them about it today. Come back when it's all done. Remind me, & I'll give you a free night.

My friends and I were so excited to stay at Polly's apartment and had found her space to be just perfect and so inviting as a place to stay for our upcoming Charleston trip/wedding. Polly was so great in providing recommendations, information about the surrounding area, and was even willing to accommodate check in times! Unfortunately, due to Hurricane Irma, we had to cancel our flights and Polly went above and beyond in making sure that we didn't stress with the weather or with the process of determining refunds. She has been one of the best hosts that I have ever encountered through Airbnb. My friends and I are planning a trip back to Charleston and we are definitely staying at Polly's place, not only for her amazing space but her phenomenal hospitality. Thanks again Polly!

Polly's apartment was wonderfully charming. I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud every night! We stayed in Charleston for the recent solar eclipse. Polly was very helpful and responsive and had a bunch of tips for us in case the city became hectic for the event. The apartment is walking distance from King Street, which was very convenient. I was pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen was fully stocked with all the dishes and utensils you would need to cook a great meal. Thank you again, Polly!

Long walk. Take a rickshaw. House under construction and the house next door

Response from Polly:
An unexpected water leak has led to repairs. The good news is that the process revealed that my house lacked insulation in it's 1880's original style. Now, we have added insulation throughout the entire facade to reduce noise.

I love to travel and explore new places. For you, coming to Charleston, I suggest checking out to see what's happening when you are in town. The Charleston City Paper also has best picks of what to do each week. I have a few properties in Charleston, and Folly Beach, SC. B…
