Unique opportunity to stay in beautiful house , with spectacular surroundings and views in the rainforest. Unforgettable place, the ride up the driveway is a bit scary- need a 4 wheel drive car, but once you arrive it's definitely worth it. Have to be okay with natural surroundings- lizards, frogs, etc... we loved it.
This is possibly one of the most unique and special vacation rental homes available on the market anywhere, period. The privacy is ultimate. You are literally on a hilltop surrounded by acres of steep rainforest. Our party of four luxuriated in the wide open spaces of the main rooms of the house and the veranda, as well as the pool deck and its absolutely jaw-dropping view of the ocean from our mountaintop location, about a 20 to 25 minute drive from Luquillo Beach. You truly are one with the rainforest up here. Be sure to ask plenty of questions because there is a lot to learn about the forest and its frogs, snails, birds, fruits, and flowers. There are two king bedrooms, two queen bedrooms, and one bunk bedroom. One of the queen rooms is a fully screened, covered outdoor sleeping porch, the description doesn't make this clear nor does it make it clear that there are actually three outdoor bathrooms, which our party found to be very, very cool. For people with serious bug phobias, staying in the rainforest in general might not be the best idea. For people who don't mind sharing space with a few lizards, snails, and spiders here and there, which you have to understand is the way it is in this environment, then it is an incredible experience. Speaking of rainforest, we were expecting a very humid stay despite our January trip. Up here on the hill in the rainforest in January it is actually breezy, temperate, sunny, and utterly heavenly. When it did rain, it would be for a two-minute spell in the daytime or a downpour at night, when the forest sounds, already loud and vibrant, would become even more pronounced. Completely amazing. Renters might find it helpful to know that there is a Ralph's supermarket 10-15 minutes away with pretty much everything you need, including decent wine and liquor, and if you take a right on Highway 3 going east, there are a few roadside vendors for local produce. The grocery store has very little fruit from Puerto Rico, but the roadside vendors had it all. The owners of this property also operate Hacienda Siesta Alegre down the hill. It is quite stunning and has an enormous thoroughbred horse farm. WiFi works very well here and the hot tub gets hot, with stunning ocean view! Vacationers with an independent spirit who enjoy luxury, privacy, and immediacy of natural environment will love this house.
