"Le Waystation" is a recently restored waystation (or coach inn) dating back over 500 years in parts. Now reconfigured as a ground-floor apartment with spacious kitchen, your own private garden and large plunge pool boasting amazing views. Private entrance, private parking. Nestled in dramatic landscape with amenities nearby.
There are 2 bedrooms - one master bedroom and the other which is currently furnished with 2 single beds. If, however, you wish the second bedroom to contain a double bed instead, let us know and we can change it. There is also a sofa bed in the living room which can be converted. Your private garden is surrounded by a wall and fence on the other side and includes a private pool and private terrace (with a plancha - hot plate - for outdoor cooking).
There are 2 Bathrooms.
One with a toilet and sink and the other with a shower, toilet and sink
The apartment was built on a single level to be easily accessible but it is not strictly-speaking wheelchair friendly.
Guests have access to their own large private plunge pool (4.6m x 2.2m), garden, terrace with outdoor cooking facilities and parking right by their private entrance set back from the road. The apartment is totally self-contained.
Interaction with guests
The apartment is attached to our house and we are available at any time for assistance. We are passionate about the area, happy to provide any local insight or information as to things to do, restaurants to recommend, places to visit or shop.
Daniela speaks fluent French.
Please let us know if you have any special requirements.
Other things to note
There has been a way station here for hundreds of years being half way between Perpignan and Carcassonne on what used to be the old main route. The apartment has been rebuilt from the old barn, we have retained some of the original features whilst adding all the modern comforts in we would want to have on holiday.
Pets are not allowed.
Due to the pool, no glassware is permitted but we have provided high-end and durable plastic glasses to avoid the stress of any major accident occurring and ask that you please don't eat too near the pool.
We have listed a check in time of 3pm and a check out time of 11am but we can be flexible at certain times so please ask us if another time is preferable.
Recently married, we moved to France for a new life and have been carefully renovating this stunning old building which used to be an important stage post in an exciting and relatively unknown beauty spot in the far south of France. We are generous and friendly ex-city dwellers who want to introduce others to this part of the world
