This charming, grand old home is surrounded by 3000 square metres of park-like gardens, a stunning array of flora, pathways, fountains and views beyond.

The space

Light and open, our home features 11 ft ceilings and original restored and polished mahogany floorboards throughout. Built around 1910 it has been lovingly maintained and updated for contemporary living. Other historical features include an open fireplace and hand-milled cathedral doors, reflecting the home's past as the former Kendall Rectory.

Guest access

The entire house is yours to use.

Interaction with guests

We are a family of mum, dad and three kids.

We do however live in Ireland so our caretaker is your first place of contact while in our home. They live a 5 minute drive away and after the booking is made we will introduce you to them and provide all of their contact details. They will be able to assist you with practicalities within the home as well as recommend to you any local places worth visiting and day trips worth doing.

We use the place as our own home for several months of the year so you will find it well equipped with everything you will need and above the usual standard of a holiday home.

We can also recommend local people for babysitting that we personally use should you have the need.

This is a beautiful home with a lot of charm and character. The perfect retreat off the beaten track, but close enough to major towns and beaches. Limited phone service in the area (not just at the house) is something to be mindful of. The home was well equipped with all the comforts one needs to enjoy a relaxing stay.

This really is a magical space. We really enjoyed staying at the Rectory and it was everything that Jason said it was. The house is so well set up and the gardens are beautifully maintained. We had 3 days and could have stayed another 3. We enjoyed sitting on the deck with a glass of wine watching the bird life all around us feeling very much at home. Thank you such a great place!

We loved our stay at Kendall Rectory. From the wonderful views from each bedroom to the two spacious bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen, we could not have asked for more. The rope swing was a big hit, along with being able to explore the gardens. Authentic decorating and the amazing features of a period home made it all the more special.

This is a beautiful house, full of character and original features and a real piece of history. The house is slightly more rustic than it looks in the pictures and the bathroom and kitchen have a more 'lived-in' feel but it is extremely well equipped and a lovely place to stay. It is also well set up for kids with most things you need and a lovely garden. It is less rural than we expected and is on the main street in Kendall but it is quiet and peaceful and very private. Beautiful garden full of laughing kookaburras and galahs doing acrobatics. Like most houses of this period there is no AC and although all the rooms have fans and high ceilings and all the doors have screens, on a hot still day it gets pretty warm inside. But lovely with a breeze. Communication with the hosts was very easy, the caretakers were friendly and helpful and checkin and checkout could not have been easier.

Wonderful house, spacious but very cosy with a nice garden and veranda. Good contact with hosts, plenty of information and help provided. Great surrounding area. We loved our stay and would highly recommend.
