Located at the intersection of Lafayette Park, home to the world's largest collection of Mies Van der Rohe architecture, and Eastern Market, North America's largest open air food market.

The space

My 600 sq. ft. 1-bedroom is located in the center of the universe. It's a 22 story building located in an 80 acre park that connects to the Dequindre Cut (bike path) and Detroit Riverfront (views of Canada).

The Eastern Market is located 2 blocks away. The market is home to 300+ food vendors that sell local produce, poultry, fish and spices. I am about 5 blocks away from the Lion's stadium (NFL), Tiger's stadium (MLB), and Red Wing's arena (NHL).

On a more formal note, the Central Business District, Whole Foods, and all Universities/Hospitals are a 5 minute bike ride away.

It is the center of the universe.

This apartment doesn't have not one television in it. It has a monitor you have to hook a laptop to. If you don't have one you will be with out entertainment in that area. The tub stops up every time you take a shower. I have a hemi charger someone tried to steal it. My metal is bent by my window. None of the wall light switches work. You have to use the bathroom light for light in the bedroom. There was someone in the apartment building above or right below the bedroom blasting music. I was surprised because it is and apartment.

Very conveniently located in the city. As other reviewers have noted there is quite a bit of elevator noise and external noise. Very easy to follow instructions for unit and very clean. Comfortable bed. Parking area was very convenient.

Kyle's place was exactly as described. Super clean, centrally located near great shops, restaurants and the market. Check in was simple and well described in the confirmation email despite not having direct contact with Kyle. The only criticism I have is it felt more like an undecorated hotel than someone's apartment which is not why I use Airbnb. It lacks personal touches and access to a local resident. Otherwise no complaints.

Kyle was a great host and the apartment was really cute! We did have trouble with the TV, the remote doesn't go to that tv and didn't work but we (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)d how to fix it and got it working. Also would have been nice to have an HDMI cord available, or if we had known there wouldn't be one. We went and bought one though. But those are minor things and if you don't plan on doing much hanging out at home then it's no biggie. everything was really great. The people in the building were all really friendly and helpful. The bed was AMAZING!!! And the neighborhood is such a cool place to walk around and explore. So much to see and do. There's a bus stop right at the complex entrance which made it easy to get to.

Perfect for a weekend visit to Detroit. Kyle's place is comfortable and in an amazing location, walking distance to pretty much everything you'd want to see or do, and with secure parking. Kyle's communication was wonderful, it made for the smoothest check in/out I've had to date with airbnb. Thanks, Kyle!

My family of 4 - kids 8-12 stayed here for a couple nights. It's close enough to everything we wanted to see and the neighborhood was ok. If you're travelling on a budget and want to cook some of your own food and have a basic place to stay, give Kyle a try.
