The space

Chateau Le Rouge sits on Orleans Ave which is a street known to have traditional *Second Lines every other weekend. So you just might open up your front door and experience and enjoy one of New Orleans' richest traditions. Also, every Mardi Gras the Zulu parade passes right in front of the house so you don't even have to leave past the front steps to be a part of the celebration! Lots of floats, music, laughter, neighbors, and goodies thrown from the floats!

*Second lines are street parades that march down the street led by a brass band and followed by everyone in and around the city and neighborhood. It's a great time filled with a sea of people walking, dancing, singing, and enjoying the music! Second lines get that name because the brass band is in the front so they are the first line and the people walking behind them making them the Second Line.

Our stay was good. The home was clean and as described. There was a bit of an issue when we lost the key but all in all we had a great time in NOLA...the only thing I will mention is that we were surprised to learn that a walkthrough was needed at check-out. That was never disclosed to us until we were on our way out. Had we known upfront we may have reconsidered this property. The weekend we stayed we rented 3 houses and this is the only host who required such. Our experiences with airbnb have been similar to that of a hotel stay so we were shocked to learn that the host felt that we didn't stay for the walk through. Other than that, she was very responsive. was available when we needed to access the property after having lost the key.

Kelly is an excellent host, probably the best host I had at Airbnb! She responded immediately to all my questions and helped in everything she could! The place is also great, and not too far from the French Quarter. It is really clean, cozy and cute. We were a group of four people and it was just perfect for us! All my friends loved the place and we had a great time in New Orleans. It was more than we expected. I think the value for money was also really good, specially considering that it was 4th of July weekend. I forgot my wallet at her place and she prompted send it to Houston as soon as she could. In sum, I would totally recommend Kelly's place to other guests!

Kelly's place was great, and Kelly was a great host. The place was perfect for five of us. It was clean and had everything we needed. Kelly responded to everything immediately, and she gave us great recommendations. We got around easily with the cable car and uber/lyfts, and there was a grocery store close by. All in all, convenient location and a great place to stay if you're looking stay beyond the French Quarter.

Safe place, easy to walk to the Jazz Festival. Short Uber to about anything you could ever imagine to want to do in New Orleans. We had fun...

Kelly is an amazing host and goes beyond the call. The suite was very clean with lots of clear space to store you things. I stayed for a longer period and Kelly responded quickly to my requests for certain items, and was always available for advice about the city. It felt like making a new friend. I couldn't recommend her more highly.

I am a guitarist/singer/songwriter/multi-instumentalist/lover of life/adventurer who loves to create things with my hands! I believe in the Law of Attraction, the power of thoughts, being impeccable with my words, and the importance of being of service. Chateau Le Rouge was given to me by my grandmother 15 years ago before her transition. It was named after a hotel she owned many years ago in the Treme. As I said, I love to work with my hands so 85% of the new renovations for Chateau Le Rouge were done by me with much appreciated help from my mom and best friend.
I love hosting with Air BNB because it allows me to meet many people from all different walks of life!
