Located at 500 meters from the village of Tholaria, the House lies on a mull surrounded by hills. It nests on a land in terraces with its vineyard and vegetable garden. The house is entirely self-sustaining, relying on solar power, winter-rain water storage and traditional farming methods. The dirt path leading to the village is a 7minutes walk and the house can be accessed by car at a low pace.
It's the departing point for many beautiful hicking tracks.

The space

New in 2015: Following feedback from our guests last Summer, all rooms now have effective mosquito nets in the windows. We have also installed a mini-fridge in this double room.

This double room has independent access, an en-suite bathroom and a private balcony with a view on the sea. There is a small fridge in the room.

The cleaning fee includes a full clean of the room at the end of your stay, or once a week, for stays of ten days or more. Additional room service can be added during your stay, at a surcharge.

Breakfast can be added (5€/person), as well as organic meals, concocted with the vegetables from the garden and local products.

The house is animal and child-friendly. Among our permanent residents are a dog, a sheep and many cats.
It is surrounded by a vast garden, with a lot of vegetation, including a big vegetable garden and a pizza oven in the yard.

Guest access

Guests are more than welcome in the common areas of the house - kitchen, living room, terraces, garden.

Interaction with guests

At least one member of our family will be living in the house and can give you tips on places to go and things to see.

Other things to note

Due to the fact that the house runs on natural energy, certain modern facilities are limited. This means no hairdryer, no TV, no internet, no bath-tubs nor swimming-pool: water comes only from the rain in the Winter. But not to worry, there is hot water!

This is the best place if you need to calm and relax. It's isolated in a lovely area and if you are an animal lover this is the right place for you. You will meet a lovely host and and her right hand, Jerry who is a former sailor who has traveled all around the world and has so many interesting stories to tell. Apart from that we loved the pizza party Wendula threw for us, she gave us the chance to meet all of the other residents. Hopefully we made some new friends and we can't wait to visit again. P.s. You really have to pet the sweetest donkey you'll ever meet. P.s.2. If you are a person who only loves luxurious things then you can't appreciate the simplicity of this place so you should try something else. But still your loss.

Response from Wendula:
Dear Orestis, money doesn't make "class" but Education does, and you and Natacha are the best example, far above pretentiouse people who think that money buys everything. Stick to that road it's the best.

Highly recommended! One day we will be back! Amazing place, with abundant flowers, green and pretty things, and an impressive view. We loved the breakfasts and the conversation with Wendula, who is helpful and makes you feel at home. Note there is no aircon (or else it couldnt be self sufficient which i really like) if you have trouble sleeping in hot weather like me, but with the fan and regular wind you should be fine- and especially may or june when the island is probably at its best.

The stay in Wendula’s house was a great experience! The house is spacious and clean and the view is breathtaking. Wendula is very welcoming and gave us a lot of tips to explore the area. We also ate vegetables from the garden, with dishes that she cooked herself! That was delicious! We have already decided to come back soon to Amorgos, to spend time with Wendula, her house and the island. Thank you for this absolutely lovely experience! Lots of kisses from Paris!!!!

I had a great experience staying here. Intravelled alone and Wendula made sure I knew everything I needed to about the area, including very kindly introducing me to her friends and other colourful characters of the island. The house is peaceful, beautiful, a real haven from stressful city life. Highly recommend either for solo traveler or for a romantic break...

This place is awesome. The house is in a really quiet place, goats and donkeys are the only noises you can hear. Wendula is a great host, takes care of everybody and prepares excellent breakfast. If you want to relax and taste the authentic greek life come ti this place in Tholaria, you won't regret it.

Great host and room. Only issue were the mosquitoes who can access the bed.
