The perfect room for a crash pad when you don't want to drive back to SF. Cozy, quiet, comfortable, full bed, lots of drawer space. Private bath down the hall. Chill home atmosphere. You can use my exercise equipment. Outside patio and BBQ.

The space

We are empty nesters so the house is clean and quiet. The house is on a quiet cul-de-sac in beautiful south Palo Alto. Great location - less than 3 miles from Stanford, a couple of miles from downtown Los Altos. Walking distance to buses on El Camino. Near many tech companies. Close to hiking/biking in the Santa Cruz mountains. There is another room available in a separate listing.

Guest access

You can be anywhere in the house excluding the master bedroom and office.
You're welcome to use the kitchen, family room, dining room, living room, outside patio, laundry for stays longer than 3 nights. You can use my exercise equipment (elliptical machine, weights, rebounder, medicine ball).

Interaction with guests

If I'm around, I'll gladly help with information about the area, transportation, biking/hiking trails, cool places to visit, shopping or anything else you want to know. If I'm not around, happy to help via email/text. I love meeting new people and would love to chat if you are so inclined and also happy to leave you alone and give you your space. Either way works for me. Your wing is quite private.

Other things to note

There is a covered patio in the back with sitting area, BBQ, lighting.
Inside is a fireplace (gas or wood) in the living room. Very easy going hosts, warm atmosphere.
Happy to give suggestions for things to do, places to go, eat, visit including hiking and biking routes.

Ellen was a great host and very responsive with multiple messages to confirm my arrival, etc. She even offered to help me get to/from my destination while here. The room was very nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. The house is on a quiet cul-de-sac street. I highly recommend this place and would stay here again.

Ellen was very quick to respond to my request. I needed a place to stay that night as my father was having surgery the next morning at the VA hospital (which is very easy to get to from the rental). It was clean and exactly as pictured. Ellen was easy to talk with and let me have my privacy as well. Ellen was also very accommodating to my needs and a positive person. If I have to return to the area I will definitely check this rental first! Also, the neighborhood was quiet and I felt safe leaving my car parked outside.

Ellen is an amazing host! I felt like at home, she was very warm, friendly, and welcoming. The house was fully equiped and had all I needed. The neighborhood and locations were perfect for my needs. I travel to the Bay Area often and stayed at other houses in the area, this is by far the best and I've already returned to stay at Ellen's place again.
