A town house in the centre of the medieval heart of Looe. A minute to the beach, harbour and town with many shops restaurants and markets to hand. We have just completed a major overhaul including sound insulation providing a haven in the bustle.

A family bedroom with a super king size bed and a quality folding bed , a twin bedded bedroom.

The space
Foam cottage was built in 1880 and over the years has acted as a home, a coffee shop, a hairdressers salon and a holiday cottage. We have returned to a home and now are letting it on AirB&B for some weeks during the year. Foam Cottage has a good feel about it. Hard to describe but one feels it as you enter. The high ceilings and regular staircase are unusual for a Cornish cottage. It is more like a town house but also has the cottage feel. We use the cottage on a regular basis, it is our second home. We have a fishing boat moored in the harbour, Silver Sally. Foam Cottage is our way of getting on the boat on a regular basis. We have completely renovated the cottage bringing it right up to date with heating and soundproofing. Also converting two bedrooms into a shower room and a bathroom, a four bed property into a two bed property with much better facilities. A walk in shower and a large luxury bath allows everyone a creature comfort. It is a sunny house that looks out into the busy Higher Market Street at the front whilst backing onto the peace and quiet of Middle Market Street at the rear. The rear basks in the sun pretty much all day and there are areas where you can sit and enjoy a coffee. So a choice of people watching or sunbathing all within twenty paces!

Guest access
The whole house is available to our guests part from the external basement.

Other things to note
There is no parking that comes with Foam Cottage but there is a pull off in front of the front door where you can offload suitcases etc. To get in, park in front, walk round the museum next door and round to the rear of Foam Cottage. By the rear door (next to the boat) is a key safe, the code will be sent by text before you arrival. Go in the rear door and through to the front door to offload.
There is super fast no limits fibre broadband wifi

We love living here. The big thing for us is that it is on the level. Within a five minute walk there are two banks, two big Co-op convenience stores, a Boots and other pharmacies, A Holland and Barratt store, at least twenty restaurants of all types, three fish and chip shops, more gift and clothes shops than I can list, galleries, hairdressers, barbers .....a beach! a bay! a harbour! a river! Oh, and by the way, the museum is right next door, our neighbours! A big thing we have found that no matter how busy the beach gets in the summer, in the morning and after about 4 in the afternoon it is virtually empty. All the holiday makers go back to their campsites or wherever and you get the town virtually to yourselves and the other lucky people who stay in the town. We oft barbecue on the beach where there is acres of space in the evening, and where it gets the evening sun. Bliss!

I have been self employed since I was 21, and am 65 now. I married in 1975 and Kathy and we have run construction and accommodation business together since then, sometimes mounting art and sculpture exhibitions. I can't live without a boat, access to theatre, the odd very fine bottle of wine , my family and good friends. The family motto is "Never give up!"
