About this listing
Leave city life behind with this little guesthouse, nestled between granite boulders and camellia bushes. Its balcony has a direct view onto Mt.Woodson with its world renowned "potato chip rock". The inside oozes country warmth with its wooden charm! Here you will experiences 4 seasons with hot summers, colorful autumns, cold winters and explosive flowering springs. But beware: no TV series here!
This is a roomy studio cabin with an attached kitchen (convection oven, hot plate, refrigerator, coffee maker) and separate bathroom (shower). You will find plenty of closet space, a private balcony, and access to most of the 1.25 acres of country property. The main house is right next door but a completely separate space and entrance. Two little dachshunde and 2 cats might roam the area.
Travelers may access the whole property as long as they are comfortable with meeting the dogs first upon arrival.
Interaction with guests
During the week I will be available in the evenings. Weekends I will likely be working in the garden all day and will be available to assist guests with their needs.
Other things to note
It is summer now and might get during the day! The cabin features a ceiling fan and a movable fan. The French doors and windows allow for ample breezes to rush through in the evening. The temperatures drop drastically at night for comfortable sleeping. While the cabin is not accessible to our cats, I advise guests with cat allergies to consider the fact that there are cats on the property. Dogs may be part of your stay with an additional deposit of $15, if they are friendly. Pets may not stay alone at the cabin when the guests go on outings. Please be sure to sign the liability waiver for your pets upon arrival.
Guest are welcome to be part of this beautiful retreat if they are respectful to nature and all the amenities. We try hard to preserve resources and hope that our guest support that notion by taking short showers and maybe even saving water from dishes for the plants. No smoking in or outside the cabin. This is a high fire danger area.
The fire pit is available after review of the necessary precautions, to avoid wild fires.
Pets are welcome as long as they are previously approved (please indicate breed, size and character).
Lastly, we do not allow any illegal drugs of any kind. Stay on the conservative side with alcohol consumption as well, as uneven paths and REALLY dark night skies could be potentially hazardous.
We want you to be safe and happy here!

I have travelled the world in my younger years, and San Diego is where I stayed. I raised two children, found many wonderful friends here, and look forward to every day I begin in this beautiful place.
Protecting and supporting the environment is probably my greatest passion. Thus, I drive an electric car, don't use plastic bags, support organic farmers, and save resources wherever I possibly can.
My home will reflect this in many ways: water comes from the well, we try to use it more than once by collecting shower and dish and hand wash water for flushing the toilets and irrigating the plants. I am in the process of getting chickens for fresh eggs and hope to find time to plant a vast vegetable garden in the near future. Nature is healing our souls from stress and daily overexposure to overstimulation. At my house, you will find tranquility, separation from city life, and e and take a break!
